Unless you like to play the games with the volume turned off, you are no doubt aware that the Pokemon games have a wide variety of great (albeit repetative) music. The list I am writing down is my favorite themes from the games based on how catchy or epic the music is. Unfortunately, if you want to experience the soundtrack yourself you are going to have to find them elsewhere. But please post your own favorite tracks.
(I'm writing a top ten list but you can just post one or two of your musics if you wish.)

So here it is:

10. Goldenrod City (Gold, Silver, Crystal)
Although you can find a similar version when you roll around on your bike, the city version is the more beautiful one. It is not the catchiest of the tunes in the list but listening to it certainly makes you feel like you are in a big city.

9. Route 1 (every game that has this route)
Though this is catchy, the real reason it is in the list is because it is almost the exact same music as "Pollywallydoodlealladay". Never heard of that. Too bad.

8. Gym Theme (every game)
Every recognizes this one. Though the Gym leader battle music is different in every generation, one thing that stays the same is the tune you hear every time you walk through the Gym door(s).

7. Canalave City (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum)
What's better than a big city tune? How about a seaport one? This music is so cool I like to roam around in the city just to listen.

6. Battle Frontier (Emerald)
Nothing says stunning quite like trumpets blazing. Though the Battle Frontier in Emerald was a superior feature in its own rights, the music added the feeling of awesomeness.

5. Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza Battle (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald)
Alright, now to the good stuff. This music here is hands down the best legendary battle music ever in a Pokemon game. (Although I hear that this new Arceus music in HG/SS sounds better.)

4. Vermillion City (Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal)

Of all the cities this one is the one tune that I can never get out of my head. For some reason, this sea city tune seems to always find its way to my humming. It is that good.

3. Game Corner (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum)
Now, you have probably grown so used to hearing the same music over and over again that you can easily identify any tune you might hear in the games as part of Pokemon. Well, when I walked into the simple game corner in Veilstone City for the first time, I suddenly began thinking that I had walked into another game. Until a familiar piece appeared at the tail end of the score, my friends and I were all thinking the same thing: how the heck did this piece end up in Pokemon?! As such this music ends up in the list simply because it is the most surprising!

2. Champion Battle (Red, Blue, Yellow, and remakes)
It's time to whip your rival's butt one last time! And what a better way to do so then with the craziest, most epic battle music ever! And if you want to, you can beat him again, and again, and again until you get sick of this tune! But judging by the level of my Pokemon, that's not going to happen easily.

1. Tin Tower (Gold, Silver, Crystal, and remakes)
One of the most overlooked themes in history of video games, this music is short, can be found in only one area, and is often forgotten about in the ocean of other great themes. But there is no dening the greatness of this masterpiece. If you want to listen for yourself, find it in the upcoming HeartGold and SoulSilver. I hear it is even better than the original.

As always, feel free to agree or disagree.

I play the games with the volume turned off... it's not really that I like to play it that way, it's more Habit from when I had my GBC and sound killed the batteries... I've just never got into the habit of playing with it on now the the battery isn't an issue.
