Yes it's fine. It's mostly so that if someone come on the forum and sees your info, they could get on facebook and send you a friend request saying "Hey, I'm Gir, will you be my friend?" and then it snowballs out of control...

of course that's a worst case scenario, but still... it's all about your safety... ;D
