Title: Kingdom Hearts
MarioandLuigi - May 25, 2009 08:32 PM (GMT)
I love KH 1 and 2, the places, weapons, characters, they're both great games! Disney and FF mixing at first sounded a bit odd, but these games are quite epic in my opinion
thoughts?
Tamat - May 25, 2009 08:44 PM (GMT)
I love the original characters, and the mix of FF characters... but for the most part, the disney characters clash... horribly with them...
I pretend the Disney Characters aren't there when I play... XD
If only Square made KH with Nintendo Characters instead of Disney... Absolute Epicness, anyone?

I'm looking forward to for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It actually released in 5 days in Japan.
I'd like to get Birth By Sleep for the PSP, but I don't have a PSP. D=
Not really planning on getting one either.
Perhaps I'll borrow my friend's...? Eh.
Tamat - May 26, 2009 01:57 AM (GMT)
Funny, that might be the one game that helps the PSP ACTUALLY sell... Sony's been hurting bad with the PSP, mostly due to a lack of unique titles... Perhaps Birth by Sleep will boost their sales... we'll see when the figures come in...

m190049 - May 26, 2009 06:15 AM (GMT)
I recall the PSP usually beating out the DS in Japan.
Tamat - May 26, 2009 01:13 PM (GMT)
I recall the PSP being deemed a complete failure in Japan due to lackluster sales so bad that Sony considered pulling out of Japan to cut their losses... though... that was well over a year ago...

Am getting from JP.
Might not even play it, more for just checking out the graphics. To see if it's worth playing.
Tamat - May 27, 2009 05:16 AM (GMT)
Now see, that figure is more consistant with the news of "DSi and Wii dominating world markets" that I hear on like all the gaming sites...

My lord, the japanese are filthy rich.
And that's just a week's sales, for a country that small.
Badfoo - June 6, 2009 06:06 PM (GMT)
I love Kingdom Hearts but I am so awful that I haven't even played Kingdom Hearts 2 :o I keep saying I'm going to get it but it never happens. I'll probably get it soon since my friend lost my Kingdom Hearts 1..... Anywho I love the game :D
m190049 - June 6, 2009 11:06 PM (GMT)
FWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWalkthrough playlist of 358/2 days.
*Spoils game for self*
Or this one. However, this walkthrough has no playlist, and only shows the top screen...
(Though the bottom screen is blank for a lot of the game, and for the rest just has maps and stuff...)
However this one's resolution is better, and is in better quality as well.

Tamat - June 8, 2009 05:09 AM (GMT)
I might get the game... otherwise, Christmas gift... it depends on money and overall enthusiasm at this point... I haven't played Kingdom Hearts in awhile, and the last time I turned on KH1, I was horrified by the difference in graphics and music between the two...
Just goes to show what happens when a sequel with all the bells and whistles are played against their predecessors (the same thing happened when I played PW after playing its sequels... I couldn't present profiles... XD

Kingdom Hearts is probably my favorite Sony franchise. KH1 was cool, KH2 was awesome. CoM sucked, but eh. Can't wait for 358/2 days, it looks amazing. =P
Tamat - June 9, 2009 12:12 AM (GMT)
I still haven't played CoM... I know what happened in it because my friend filled me in, but card-based combat never appealed to me... I might try it on the PS2 though...

I got 358/2, but I can't figure out how to save DD:
I've lost 3 hours of progress DD:
Damn japanese, being so impossible to read.
Tamat - June 9, 2009 03:25 AM (GMT)
... how about looking up the Japanese equivalent of "Save" online, or finding one of those "So you decided to buy the Japanese version instead of waiting and you can't read what's going on" Guides... Knowing KH fans, there should be atleast 50... many of which have glowing neon signs around them...

LanceUnforgivable - July 4, 2009 08:12 AM (GMT)
uhm...if you got it in english it should say in the instruction manual xD if you didn't...you're doomed to never again figure out how to save :D
unless of course you find any of these in there somewhere:
nozoite, kyou, nokosu, se-bu - save in japanese :'D
Schrödinger's Cat - October 27, 2009 03:22 AM (GMT)
I just beat the first one after playing for about 2 weeks (and hour or two each day)
I'm going to be getting the second one as soon as I have an income
m190049 - October 27, 2009 03:33 AM (GMT)
Omfg I want 358/2 so damn bad. D:
I'm in the middle of SoulSilver though at the moment and HATE dividing my attention between games (though I've been managing with SS & PMD2 at the same time in recent). As soon as I beat SoulSilver I'm definitely going to buy this game. I've been thinking about the games quite a bit recently. And read through a couple of my KH Mangas a bit when I was thinking about it earlier today.
A couple of my friends have it and I watch them play during lunch, though.

You haven't beaten SS yet? Haven't you had it for like over a month?
I just got HG on the 13th because it got "lost" in the mail. Currently I'm training to beat Red... and getting the last few legends that have eluded me...
Back on topic...
I'll probably get Kingdom Hearts 358/2 for Christmas... And I still need to get Chain of Memories for the PS2...
... I just noticed I haven't bought many games this year... damn DVDs, Manga, other stuff, and Pokemon Cards... XD

...Barely. I got it October 6th. That's just 3 weeks ago.
And I go reeaaalllyyy sloooww when I play Pokemon games.
...Plus there's the fact that I took a large break when my comp was broken.
21 days - 10 day break = ~11 days of play.
In a way I've had it less than two weeks.
And than there's the "i'm horrendously slow" part.
Anthem - October 27, 2009 07:59 PM (GMT)
I got 358/2 days, like 2 weeks ago. So effin' awesome. I was able to beat it on Standard Despite it being my first time actually 'playing'' a Kingdom Hearts game.
The gameplay is exceptionally great. It actually surprised me coming from a Disney game, but then again it is Square.
I don't care much for the story though.
Sapphire Phoenix - October 31, 2009 07:35 PM (GMT)
I got 358/2 Days about two weeks ago too, and it's really fun (I beat it in two days >.<)! I'm not much of a fan of 3D games on the DS, but everything looks nice in here (mainly the cutscenes) The missions get a bit repetitive after a while, but it isn't as annoying as it sounds. Despite this being my first KH game I enjoyed it a lot, even though I had no idea what was going on in the beginning plot-wise.
Multiplayer mode would have been cooler on Wifi >.>
m190049 - January 5, 2010 05:20 AM (GMT)
Beat KH 358/2 Days a week or so ago, and it was awesome.
At the moment I am resisting urges to play the the entire series through again, and also debating on whether or not I should spoil the plot of Birth By Sleep for myself when it comes out in Japan in 4 days.
Tamat - January 9, 2010 11:11 AM (GMT)
Blerg... I'm juggling like 10 games at once... So many good games...
358/2 Days is great... but it took FOREVER to get started... and there are quite a few plot lulls before Day 255... Also, some of the challenges you have to do to unlock missions pissed me off... *perfectionist freak*
I'm nearing the end though... But I spoiled the ending for myself when it came out in Japan... :P
The plot's... interesting... Though I don't get the point of calling them Org. XIII if a "14th" member joins (Yes, I know she's not considered a REAL member, but that was only to Saix, Xemnas, and maybe Xigbar)

...Something tells me when you say "spoiled the ending" you only meant "seeing to final two bosses" or something to that such, and not really understanding what was going on.
Cause if you did, you would know just why they didn't...
...And it's kinda Cryptic, at that.
Oh ehm Gee Birth By Sleep came out today in Japan. ^.^

Again, only three members (unless Vexen was involved (I'm assuming so), or the other members except Axel, Demyx, Roxas, and maybe a couple of others were just left out) knew about what Xion truly was. I mean, if everyone else knew it, why was Axel left out? I can see not telling Roxas (and maybe Demyx... not that you'd expect him to know what the hell's going on), but I don't see any reason why Axel would be left out if everyone else knew so in the first place. The explanation seems more like "Aw shit... we have a 14th member? But we already made the T-Shirts... Oh well, we'll just go by Org. XIII"
I will admit I didn't get the finer points of the plot, but I did know about the overarching plot of the game. I said I "spoiled the ending" because that's really about all that's left for me to get to. :P
Also for that matter... she doesn't even have a chair in the round room now that I think about it... Hmm... and for that matter, how did they perfectly space and build the room to have EXACTLY 13 chairs? like they knew they were going to have 13 members...
Ehh... maybe I'm reading too much into this... XD
And hooray, I was semi-right about a plot point in BbS... now to make someone eat crow...

The members that almost definitely knew of what Xion actually was is Xemnas, Xigbar, Vexen, Lexaeus, Zexion, and Saïx.
Marluxia and Larxene might have known, but it's not known for sure since they died too early for it to be certain (though they're participation in the Castle Oblivion Project might infer that they may have at least been tipped off).

It was inferred they can warp the room, among others, to suit their needs...
The message was in that they never built past 13.
...The point of the matter was they never changed their name because when Xion was created, they had the full intention of having either her or Roxas in the end killing the other, as neither of their existences meant anything to them other then as an obedient slave to collect hearts that they can bend to their will.

Tamat - January 18, 2010 12:33 AM (GMT)
Still, it seems like the whole plot was planned out after KHII was made (even though Nomura has repeatedly stated that he knew about Xion since the early stages of KHII (though if that were true, why didn't he put SOMETHING in KHII that seemed out of place until KH Days came out and explained it?) but Nomura has been known to state other things that end up not being true (like the fact that Heartless didn't exist back in BBS, yet they indeed did))
I didn't miss the message at the end, but you know, if they had 14 members in 256 days (assuming Xion was created the day she was introduced), you would think that someone would have called them the Org. XIV (probably Demyx or someone who didn't know)
Also, what makes you think that Lexaeus or Zexion knew? I know they're a part of the original 6, but I didn't seem to get the impression that they knew... (though, we hardly got to see much of them). It seemed to me that Xigbar knew because he's Xemnas's closest confidant (except for maybe Saix) and Vexen would have had to be involved because it's his program, and he's probably the only one who could run it. However the other two don't seem to have any reason to know except that they're part of the original 6... and remember the old saying "3 can keep a secret if two are dead." I don't think Xemnas would inform anyone he didn't have to (though he probably told Xigbar also because of the fact that only the two of them could possibly see Xion as Ven)
Though, I'm curious now...
I did notice that in the game the Organization didn't refer to itself as Org. XIII (or not that I can remember, nor can a few of my friends), it was just called "The Organization"... so maybe they weren't referred to as such until the end of KH Days and the beginning of KHII?
