What You Need to Know
For residents of Charlemont, Michigan, the number seven portends doom. Seven, the number most cherished by people who believed in luck, was also the chosen number of the Hunters. The Hunters of the Seven Clans are not friends of Charlemont, for the town is actually the base of one of the stronger vampire covens existing in the known world.
Worthington Preparatory Academy, found in the heart of Charlemont, is a vampire stronghold for the newly transformed children of The Fallen. Here they are slowly eased into becoming an entirely different race. The population of the school is made up primarily of the mixed bloods with a few of the pureblood children who wished to make a bigger mark for themselves, rather than stay hidden in the private covens of the vampires. They, too, use the school to become assimilated into the modern society. As for the town itself, majority of it are composed of humans who have intimate knowledge of the vampires and protects them, their ancestors having struck a deal with the Elders. Let us live, let us prosper, and we will cater to your whim. It’s a balance that has worked for centuries.
However the oldest of the vampire families decided the school and town itself were no longer providing a safe haven for their children and that the hunter clans, diminished though they were in number, were slowly gathering in power again.
Requesting a palaver with the leaders of the Hunter Council they struck a bargain: Let us see if we can make humans and vampires co exist in peace. The school shall be opened for humans to test the humanity of the vampires.
The hunters agreed but only if their own children would be allowed to enter the school.
A gamble for both races. And not everyone seek a common goal.
Now it is the vampires who find themselves in danger in their own turf, for the hunters refused to name their children to the vampire elders. Trust, they said, they have given, and trust they must receive in return. It is a game where the rules of courtesy is used to its limit and final outcome might mean the extinction of the vampire race...
Since the latest Legacy Ball, where an Empusa elder was found hanged with a disturbing note, this extinction seems more and more likely to come from a civil war of sorts. Empusa now distrusting Lamia, and Priscus trying to keep the peace, while the hunters wait on the sidelines.
Now the fourth race has decided it must intercede. Kiasyd, keepers of the earth, of neither heaven nor hell. The stakes have gotten higher, the game more dangerous.
