The year is 1976 and the wizarding world is at war. Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters have been launching attacks on muggle borns and blood traitors alike. The Ministry's Auror department is in the middle of fighting them. But there are only so many Aurors to go round. The Ministry has therefore decreed that Auror training will now be reduced to one year of intensive training so that their front lines will have more wizards and witches fighting the Death Eaters. It is a necessary precaution and the Minister feels that battle will train the new recruits up quickly.
Meanwhile the muggles have become suspicious of these "random" attacks. The Prime Minister has passed a law permitting muggles to carry firearms and use them in self defence should malicious hooded masked figures come calling. The muggles are fighting back as best as they can but the wizards have stronger things than firearms at their disposal. The Ministry is sending wizards from their less necessary departments to protect muggle born families and those who may be targeted by using special protective charms that need to be renewed every few days.
Meanwhile at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, three parselmouths are now present at Hogwarts, two have joined this year from other schools. The gift itself is rare enough with one person but the fact there are three means great danger to the school. A student gifted with being a seer has foretold a powerful prophecy.
The three serpents will rise and bring forth the word of snake
Two shall conquer and the blood of innocents will be spilt
Seven will die unless the weak link is broken
The war has been brought inside the castle walls. Will you fight for the light or the darkness? Evil is in the Air |
