Pretty popular series by George Martin. Vik just read the first one and got all obsessed, which is pretty easy to do. It's this crazy epic fantasy series, along the same lines as Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, but much more happens. Personally I prefer them, but if you've read it tell me what you think.

There's an RP of it too, official book and everything, that looks pretty awesome.
