Physical Description: A boy of average height, he has a rather solid build from growing up raising livestock. Long, dirty blonde hair collected mostly in a ponytail set underneath a cowboy hat. He often wears clothes that are a cross of modern Japanese fashion and old west, namely his deer skin duster.
Personality Profile: Harlan Kovacs is a hell of a guy to have around; he’s friendly as all-get-out, a skirt chaser, and all-around cowboy. No one you’d rather have as a friend, though his attitude and sense of right and wrong tend to put him at odds with certain kinds of people… also, he tends to be brutally honest.
Reward/Driving Goal: Harlan’s main goal in life is to become one of the best Ranchers, as well as acclaimed Riders, in all of Kanto; that not only means training hard enough to win the Nomad Festival’s Free-for-All Race, but being able to raise enough money to establish his own ranch and raise a whole mess of pure breed Ponytas and Tauros.
Biography:
Harlan grew up amongst the Nomads who roam the wild plains south of Fuchsia City, a fact he is proud to remind anyone of. It was thus that most of his education was among them, though the lifestyle had attracted many romantics from all sides of life; he met all kinds of people who taught him everything he’d need in life, including begrudgingly, general education. The young cowboy found himself waiting every year for the Nomad’s Festival, however, when he got to visit Fuchsia City and see all the wonderful sights. Therefore, it was not to surprising when he decided to explore the world when he came of age, his family allowing him to take the Ponyta he’d raised from a colt, North Star, out into the world.
He spent much time traveling, exploring and getting to know every city he visited… especially the girls. Many a pretty girl remembers his visits and waits longingly for his return to the towns and rest stops. In fact, it was a relationship with a girl at a Pokecenter that finally convinced him to become a Pokemon trainer; sure he’d had Ponyta forever, but he’d never been a serious trainer… rather just a guy with a good friend and mount. Thus it was that he decided to try his hand at it; who knows, maybe he could make his fortune at it?
