Event Coordinator Rules

Rules of being an Event Coordinator.
1) I will begin and end the event I volunteered to run at the times assigned.
2) Only persons with valid badges will play in my event.
3) Players that have pre-registered for an event will be admitted first. If there is still room at the official start time to my event others may be admitted.
4) I will not collect payment of any kind from any players.
5) I will permit others to observe my event quietly and will be polite in responding to any questions they may have.
6) I will be courteous, patient and polite to all players. I will not use language that may be considered foul, provocative, insulting or otherwise in bad taste.
7) I will direct any complaints to the Phoenix ConGames staff.
8) At the end of the session I will thank the players for their participation.
9) I will leave the area neat and tidy for the arrangement of the next event.
10) Should some unavoidable circumstance arise that prevents me from performing my agreed event, I will immediately contact the con staff.
11) I am an independent contractor, providing temporary voluntary services to ConEvents LLC and Phoenix ConGames. I am in no way an employee of ConEvents LLC.

What happens if nobody shows up for my scheduled event? Do I need to make up hours volunteering if I still wanna get in for free (as part of event coordinator benefits, of course)... ?

If you have no players, check in with Game Central. Often they have players that do not know what they want to play. This would be in addittion to picking up your sign in sheet about 15min before the event. If after 5 to 10 minutes you have not been able to get any players make sure you let Game Central Know.

It is not unheard off to have no players, we expect some events will go this route. What we dont like seeing is Players showing up and there not being a GM. If you have let Game central know they may get you players, or we have had some cases where players and GM's were both looking for each other, but were on the wrong tables. Game Central sorted that out.

Once Game Central says your games a bust, go have fun and play.

On the off chance everyone of your events some how busts with no players, we track that and sometimes we need to look at other event options. It could be that there is no players that want to play Game X, but next year we could redirect you to games that we need GMs to run.



So the short answer, no just check with Game Central before you toss in the Towel.
