What would a live action event at the con be?
daniellefaye - May 30, 2006 05:11 PM (GMT)
Ring-around-the-rosie -
DEATHMATCH!

Or, you know, you could stick to LARPs, which are arguably safer, and probably less likely to result in a large cleaning bill from the hotel afterwards. Unless of course there are tarps involved. Then it's all about the deathmatch. But, if you still prefer LARPs to tarps, there are plans to bring back the Harry Potter LARP for the kids, and I believe White Wolf will also be getting their LARP on as well.

For some reason I want to call you Figmento! The Great. Dunno why.
Anyhow, yes, HP LARP is an all ages event. I hear you all are gonna be running all over that hotel this year! The way Ivan put it, made it sound pretty neat the setup. Good luck with that this year.

Are there any other all ages ones going on besides the harry potter one? I know! Live action Axis and Alies. :P

Each Hogwarts Live Action has fully utilized the convention space provided, thanks to Ivan's willingness to meet our needs at Hexacon XIII, Phoenix Con Games I, and Phoenix Con Games II. Anyone interested is encouraged to
prereg now and/or ask any questions they may have.
Thanks for the well wishes! :phx: :pawn:

Yes HLA is an interesting animal when it comes to where it takes place, It does exist in small cracks and corners, and big open spaces. But the people running the game are trying and I feel to achieve the grand experience of being in a Harry Potter Story. Moving around Hogswart and surrounding locations like the Forbidden Forest the train station, great hall lakes observitories, etc.
Kids of all ages (yes you parents that read them stories before you let the kids have the book, you know who you are) need to play this game. It will take you to the world of HP like no other experience as you will be part of the story and not just watching it go by!
I give it 5 Pawns! :pawn: :pawn: :pawn: :pawn: :pawn:

I don't know that I'd consider World of Darkness "all ages", but if HP isn't your ideal LAE, it would definitely qualify for the older crowd.

Currently I find no World of Darkness tabletop or live action on the site. For live action there is currently the Old West Poker Tournament (rated A for Adult), NERO (rated E for Everyone), and HLA (rated E for Everyone). Of course, this is subject to change as ECs submit events and have them approved. :)

Keep checking, as I may be thinking of events that have yet to be officially registered (of course, that may be subject to change). I know that last year the Camarilla had a presence; you're correct, though - nothing confirmed as yet for this year.

The other LARPs from White Wolf are now up, No detailed information yet, just the times they will be running at. Vampires don't like to come out during the day, and there ghouls keep being eaten by the werewolfs. If a mage out there would care enough to send us a magical dispatch with more details I am sure it could find its way to Hogwarts. Remember your Roots o' great mages, and get the event managers the details to the great White Wolf events...
(...i am done now... ...stepping of the soap box...)
