What it is: A machinima filming tool. Based on code from San An Studios 4, that features:

- Creation of 6 peds, along with a 3 group and 12 group
- A skin changer for the player
- Creation of 4 vehicles
- Vehicle that follow other vehicles
- Weapon selector
- Custom animation keys (animation list included)
- Timeline file
- Weather and time controls
- Configuration file (IVStudios.cfg) to preassign peds and vehicles
- Switchable IV Text Helper, to indicate various program states
- Ability to save/reload ped and vehicle positions and game states
- Clips captured WILL show results of using the mod, except perhaps text. (FRAPS who?)
- Lots more that I can't think of right now

REQUIREMENTS:

GTA IV, at LEAST patch 1.01, though I'd recommend at least 1.03, just so you can reassign your player keys. A gamepad is almost necessary for this mod. I'm using 1.04. You will also need XLiveless or similar asi loader.

INSTALLATION:

Decompress all files to your GTA4 gameplay folder (typically Drive\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV. The IVStudios folders and all files inside MUST go into the root folder as well. You'll know if it's installed right when your create your first ped and it doesn't die (the IVStudios.cfg file contains the ped health variables). The main files in the GTA IV root should be ScriptHook.dll and IVStudios.asi, along with whatever asi loader you happen to use.

See the IVREAD_ME.txt file for more info on getting started. IVGAMEKEYS.txt has all the key controls.

UPDATES SINCE PRE-RELEASE:
- Full I/O save and restore on all peds and cars
- Teleport to waypoint
- Drive to waypoint, with vehicle follow enabled
- 3 ped group and 12 ped group added
- All created peds have weapon options at the end of creation
- Ped variations; use page up/down back and forth to see variations. Variations save with file save/restore, and can be used as preassigned peds in IVStudios.cfg (edit with Notepad)
- Various little fixes/additions

KNOWN BUGS
- 3 ped conversations not working at the moment.
- game crashes on certain functions if you load a save after the initial game load. Rename the save you want to use as SGTA411 for auto-load.
- certain game parts not opened up early in the game; only 4 wanted stars available, missions will play (though you shouldn't do this). Recommend you get a 100% save or use a save with the storyline finished to get full effects of the mod.
- 'S' key animation still disabled; working on ped speech routine

As it is though, it's perfectly usable, so go make some awesome movies!

Is this where we post questions for IVS? Hope so.

Sweet to be using your mod again, ceedj!!! -- in a whole new Liberty City too!!

Mod comes to life; peds can be created and live to fight and cry, but I can't seem to get the speech to work. Maybe I'm not doing it right. I'm using the default files that come with the mod. Is it (for Nico) CAPS + A and S and D? One time while using those key combos (I think the S key) he said something about a prank call but then nothing.

Also, he falls from a skyscraper and dies even in God mode.

Also, does timeline not work yet?

I'm at GTAIV version 1.0.4.0 -- and I don't log into the MS Social Club stuff. I'm too anti-social! Is that a problem for this mod?

I think I know why some of the voices aren't working with the ped I spawned. It's because they don't work with that particular ped. ...I think. But it still doesn't explain why the speech that works doesn't ever repeat when I use the keys a second, third, fourth, etc. time.

No, just the "S" key for speech, the A and D keys (for the moment) are for facial expressions. One of those will probably be nixed and used for secondary animations.

If you're using it for Niko, just keep on pressing CAPS + S to run through them. Timeline works the same way, just keep pressing CAPS + T. For both, just add new lines. Reload them with R + S and R + T, respectively. This will reset both files to the beginning, so you can use them again. So if you need more than one action or speech for more than one actor, just repeat them in the files, and the action of keypresses will "step" through the file.

Don't know if this is obvious, but make sure you download the newest version (tonight's build). Funny enough, I didn't really "test" the timeline one, but hey, it actually works. Copy and paste of old code RULES!

EDIT: Also note that a lot of the "IG" actors (these are the same as the old "special actors" from previous games) don't have very many speech settings. We're (the mod community) is still working out which ones do and don't.

Hi, I just first want to say thanks alot for this mod. Believe it or not I actually have waited all this time until now to even buy the game yet because of all the graphic related issues I read about with the game but also more because I have been waiting hoping this mod would eventually be made. I also have been saving to purchase a new computer. Aside from enjoying playing the game, the thing I really look forward to the most will be using this mod to try to make machinima films. Because I know how neat it was using the GTA:SA Studios mod. So again thanks for finally releasing this.

My Question: In reading the Info " Clips captured WILL show results of using the mod, except perhaps text. '

I am curious what that means exactly? In using this mod is there some type graphical element rendered in the recorded clips? If that is the case I am sure such things can easily be cropped out ultimately in a video editor program etc.

Basically, it's a long way around of saying it works with the clip capture, which when I started the project, had no idea if it would work or not. Some of the text MIGHT show in clips, but it's easy enough to turn off with DELETE + T.
