The Astro Megaship finally came into orbit over the Earth. From here they could visually see what their computer sensors had been reading all along. All satellites in orbit around the planet were completely shut down. The orbiting dishes were still in place in geo synchronous orbit yet no signals were coming to or from them as if they had all simply been turned off.

“Start global and galaxy scans, we have to find out what caused this.” Andros instructed to his teammates already beginning the necessary procedure from his console.

It did not take long for the former space rangers’ investigation to pick up the strange energy readings coming from one of Earth’s major satellite network hub station. DECA was reading human life signs and a few anomalous readings but no alien or monster signatures, as they had feared. So unless there was something there that they were not equipped to scan it looked like this was in fact a man caused disaster. The energy readings coming from the station though were still very strange.

“I think we should split up and check this out. Ashley, Zhane and I can teleport down there to investigate, the rest of you keep the ship in orbit over the area and keep scanning to see what else you can find out.” Andros looked around at his teammates making sure they were all on the same page with this plan before he would head down to the work bay to grab his astro blaster and scanning equipment and use the jump tube to teleport to Earth.

Zhane felt that a man couldn't do something like this scans could be wrong or something is able to block them. Zhane put in his code to the vault and took his morpher out he whispered," Just encase." Zhane hurried and shut the door then got his scanner and Astro Blaster and slid down the silver tube. Zhane had a bad feeling and hoped no one would find out what he did.

While sliding down the tube he said," This is for Karone's sake."

What DECA readings had brought back to them was somewhat relieving to hear that they were proven mistaken at this point. Andros had the right idea upon that suggestion. They would definitely cover more ground sending one team down, while the others keep looking for anything that may have been over look on the Astro Megaship computer sensors. “Right” Ashley nodded in an agreement and followed close behind. Reaching into her pocket, pulled out a yellow ponytail to hold her hair back along the way down to the work bay.

The two had arrived to see Zhane’s head disappeared down the silver jump tube instead of waiting for them. Ashley couldn’t blame him for taking off instead of waiting for them and open her locker. Inside was the scanning equipment amongst a few other things, that she accidentally neglected to remove (mainly a few pictures taken). Everything had appeared to be still working in order.

“Right”
Ashley said with a nod and the other rangers also consented moving to their stations to continue the search scan. Andros hadn’t seen Zhane leave but wasn’t surprised that he did not wait around long. The Silver Ranger was always ready to dive head first into battle.

Taking the megalift with Ashley they made it into the workbay as Zhane went down the jump tube. He thought he heard Zhane say his sister’s name before he left the ship. Ignoring that Andros quickly went to his locker retrieving his astro blaster and some scanning equipment. Strapping the blaster to the belt and holding the scanner in his hand Andros waste no time moving up to the jump tube platform with Ashley. No time to waste with the traditional pose instead he just jumped right down the red marked tube.


A red stream of light like the flame of a rocket thruster beamed down on earth and Andros appeared on the ground. He and his fellow former Space Rangers found themselves inside the satellite network station compound. Looking around there was at least one building near what looked like a power relay that was completely destroyed. There was a hand full of other buildings that looked heavily damaged as well and there was an eerie lack of people in the area.

“This does not look good.” Checking the scanner in his hand there were energy readings from all over. There was a large residual radiation trace from the destroyed building that was covering up most of the other readings. Yet the scanner was picking up some strange energy signatures from another part of the compound.

Looking to his teammates Andros debated quickly with himself about what they should do. With a place this big they would need to cover as much ground as they could, but they had no idea what they were getting into. He didn’t like the idea of separating just yet, not till they had a better idea of what was going on here.

“Let’s stick close.” Andros said simply and started walking towards the destroyed building. His eyes going back and forth from the scanner in his hand to the area around them trying to figure out just what happened here.

Zhane was sticking close to Andros and said," This doesn't look normal I mean radiation blocking satellite signals, never heard of that happening." Zhane then thought," Damn this even raises my suspections." Zhane knew he was probably going to need to defend his teammates. Zhane looked around and he said," Andros the radiation signal is stronger over here."

Zhane thought this whole time," We are only three people if something happens it is going to be hard to defend each other, especially if its just me."

Drawing up to the side, Ashley knelt down upon one knee taking a closer look upon the destroyed building for a moment reflection. “I have to agree on that statement. With or without these readings there’s definitely an air of…” she paused pushing a few wayward strands of hair over her right earlobe. “abnormality here.” Taking another look at the debris slowly arose and dusted her knee off.

A figure approached the trio of rangers amidst all the rubble. He was dressed black clothes, pants and a hooded sweatshirt. The hood was up, blocking good view of his face, but he did seem to be wearing a full face-mask as well, one which covered all but his eyes. Around his eyes, he also wore darkened ski goggles. He clearly didn't want his identity known. He walked to within 30 feet of the three, saying nothing and not responding to anything they said and any questions they asked. He stopped and looked from Zhane, to Andros, and to Ashley. He slowly bowed to them, then instantly moved into a fighting stance and gestured for them to apprach him and fight. He made no move to attack them at the moment, but he clearly did challenge them.

Zhane said," Guys let me deal with him." Zhane took out his morpher and said," See Andros I told you that we should of brought them." He then said," Lets rock it." Zhane then pressed the buttons straight down the middle of the phone and then one to the right when he reached the last one and the phone said," M, E, G, A, MEGA." Zhane changed into the silver spaceranger and he ran at the man and threw a punch towards him.

" This doesn't look normal I mean radiation blocking satellite signals, never heard of that happening."

Zhane told Andros and he gave his friend a small nod in understanding as he kept his focus on the readings from the scanner and the stranger surroundings.

“I have to agree on that statement. With or without these readings there’s definitely an air of…abnormality here.”
Ashley added in agreement. Andros briefly turned his attention from his equipment to his two teammates “Well that’s why we’re here to find out what is going on.”

" Andros the radiation signal is stronger over here."

Andros looked where Zhane was pointing checking with his scanner as well. The radiation signal was higher over by the other side of the destroyed building.
“Let’s check it out.” He said leading the way following the source of the stronger readings.

Andros moved behind what looked like the remains of a wall. Rubble and debris littered the area where the scanners were picking up the energy. Holding his arm out in front of him Andros closed his eyes and with a wave of his hand used his telekinesis to move the smaller rocks and boulders out of the way of the larger debris chunks. Kneeling down low to the ground near the large piece of rubble he could see something stuck underneath it.

“I think we have something here.” Andros called over behind his shoulder to Ashley and Zhane. Picking up the end of concert piece of rubble as high as he could Andros dragged it to side enough to clear it from what ever was under there.
There was the scrap remains of a large white steal box. Still kneeling down close to the ground he looked it over. It could have been the remains of just about anything but from what was left of the shape and markings on it Andros was able to recognize it. “I think it’s a power transformer, it looks just like the ones used at the NASDA base.”

Andros rubbed his hand under his chin glancing from the transformer remains to the scanner he had sat on the ground. Looking at the levels of radiation in the area his focus turned over towards the building remains. “I think this was the power station. This radiation could be from some kind explosion that destroyed all power to satellite hub station. Something like that maybe what has knocked out the satellite network.”

Andros wasn’t positive of his theory as he picked up the scanner looking at the energy. This radiation signature was still unidentified. Even if it had caused the explosion like he said what ever made it was still a mystery.

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of movement coming towards them. Looking behind where they had been Andros could see a black cloaked figure moving towards them. He jumped to his feet to get the others attention to look in the direction he was facing. He quickly pocketed his scanner and pulled out his Astro Blaster. Holding it to his side Andros waited to get a better look at this person.

The new comer stopped roughly thirty feet from them. His face was covered along with his body making it impossible to identify him; if it even was a he. Andros kept his blaster down but took a step forward moving in front of the others. “Who are you?”

The stranger said nothing. Andros’s grip on his blaster tightened. “Who are you?” He repeated but still the person said nothing. Andros tried to change questions looking for a different response. “What are you doing here?” Still there was no answer from the new comer.

Andros watched him look towards each of them. Almost as if on its own Andros’s arm raised as figure moved. But he only bowed at them then moved into a fighting stance and gestured for them to fight. Andros kept his blaster raised but the mystery man did not move.

" Guys let me deal with him."
Andros glanced over at his friend trying to keep his hand steady and his focus on the possible enemy. Until he saw the morpher Zhane pulled out. Andros eyes widened in surprise. He had flat out told Zhane to leave the morpher behind and he deliberately went against his wishes.

" See Andros I told you that we should of brought them."
“What the hell Zhane!”
" Lets rock it."
“Wait no!” But it was to late in a flash Zhane was morphed as the Silver Ranger and rushed in a fight with the stranger. Andros had never been so shocked and angry with his best friend before. Even when Zhane had attacked him pretending to be the Red Psycho Ranger as a gag, or when Andros had foolishly thought that Zhane was trying to pick up on Ashley. No this definitely topped all that. His first teammate, his best friend for years, and the person he was supposed to be able to count on no matter what had flat out disobeyed his order and was not even listening to him now as he jumped into a battle they did not even know who or what they were fighting over. And worst of all, all Andros could do right now watch and see just how this mystery man responded to it all.

Ashley's mouth open for a moment at a lost of words for a second, and quickly hussled over towards Andros's side immediately. It was definitely unusual that someone would come up and bowed respectfully towards them, then resume a fighting position. Definitely different from what they normally had faced in the past.

" See Andros I told you that we should of brought them."
“What the hell Zhane!”
" Lets rock it."
“Wait no!”

Looking at the expression upon Andros's face, that Andros had resided into letting Zhane face the mysterious figure. It was a bit unorthodox, but perhaps that this was the only way to know what this mysterious figure intentions were truly are.

The figure easily spun to the side and avoided the punch. What was odd, though, was as he spun away from Zhane's punch, he appeared to move so fast as if to blur, nearly faster then the eye could see. Zhane's fist merely passed through an after-image of the man's rapid movement. As he finished the spin, he delivered his own punch with the flat of his palm against Zhane's stomach. The speed with which he moved had continued with the punch, giving it significantly more force then a normal punch would have given.

He did not follow up his attack, though. He remained steady for a moment, giving Zhane a chance to recover. Instead, he glanced over towards Andros and Ashley. He spun again, shooting his leg out and delivering a kick towards a rock on the ground. He was still a good distance from the two other rangers, so they had nothing to fear from his kick, but the rock shot out and hit Andros' hand, the one holding the blaster. The man gave Andros a shake of his head as if to say that this was a duel and that there was no room for blasters here. He then returned his gaze towards the Silver Space Ranger.

Zhane looked at the figure and said," What are you, I know you aren't human." Andros saw the faces of his teammates and said," Guys go find the problem I will deal with him." He knew he couldn't give orders but he then said," Look if you don't leave he might kill you I know Karone will be angry that I almost died, but Andros think about Ashley, please find the problem then we will head back to the ship." Zhane took his Super Silverizer in sword mode and said," Look I know you must mean harm or you want us to help you, if its that stop now." Zhane then put is Super Silverizer into gun mode and said," If you wish to cause harm to my friends then I will have to defeat you." Zhane pointed his weapon towards the strange figure.

Andros watched as Zhane attacked the mystery fighter. To his surprise the Silver Ranger’s fist did not connect. The fighter moved so fast that Andros could barely tell that he had moved. Before Zhane could even react his opponent nailed him with a hard punch knocking him back. Then just as surprising at the fighter’s speed he did not press the attack on the Silver Ranger. Andros couldn’t tell if this was some kind of respect or if the guy was just toying with Zhane.

Before Andros could think too much on it the fighter kicked the ground sending a rock smashing into his hand holding the blaster.
“Ahh!” Andros dropped the blaster to the ground and held his stinging hand with the other. Looking at the fighter he seemed to shake his head at Andros as if disapproving of the weapon. Again Andros wondered about the fighters motive if he was afraid of t he blaster or really had some kind of honor to him or if there was some other ulterior motive.

" Guys go find the problem I will deal with him."

The Silver Ranger called out making the former Red Ranger look towards him.

" Look if you don't leave he might kill you I know Karone will be angry that I almost died, but Andros think about Ashley, please find the problem then we will head back to the ship."
Andros was taken aback by this. Was there something about this fighter Andros had missed that was scarring Zhane. They had faced hundreds of more intimidating enemies then this guy and always came out. It was far too early to even be thinking about death or retreating. And Andros was not going to take listen to rules from this fighter or from his misguided friend.

He could hear Zhane yelling questions at the enemy who seemed to still be unresponsive. Turning to face Ashley so that his back was to the fighters Andros met her eyes. He moved eyes from hers to the Astro Blaster on her belt then glanced over to the right side of where they were behind where the enemy was positioned. Andros looked to Ashley waiting for a signal of understanding to what he wanted her to do.

With that Andros held out his hand and telekinetically pulled his Astro Blaster off of the ground into his hand. Pulling it apart he spun around the gun separated into two blasters one in each hand. He glanced out of the corner of his eye to make sure Ashley was in position.
“Fire!” He called out for Ashley to follow suit as he opened fire. Blue energy shot out from both his blasters. He aimed one shot for the space between Zhane and the enemy hoping to catch him off guard or catch him if he tried to run forward from the other blast the he aimed squarely at the fighter. As explosions went up from the fired energy blasts Andros looked over towards Zhane. “You should know better then any of us Zhane, morphed or unmorphed we are still Power Rangers.”

Ashley had clearly understood when their eyes met, both thinking for the same thing and replied with a slight nod. Reaching for the Astro Blaster upon her belt, had taken aim unleashing another energy blast that followed Andros’s.

“And friends do not leave friends behind, no matter what the situation may be. If you’re going to think for a split second that we’re going to leave you here along, then you’re badly mistaken.” Keeping the Astro Blaster raised if needed to fire another shot. “The though counts, but I’m capable of handling things like everyone else, Zhane.” Her eyes shifted to the unknown fighter for a moment and then at Andros’s. It was obvious that they noted the same thing about him.

TJ, Cassie, and Carlos were on command deck of the megaship, watching the fight go on. All of them were starting to wonder if they really should stay on the ship. If that guy could brush the Silver Ranger off like he was nothing...

"Guys we've got to help them!" Cassie exclaimed, standing. She was ready to go. TJ's voice stopped her in her tracks.

"Look, Andros told us to find the source of the radiation. Now that there's a new player in the mix, it's even more important. Look, we almost have it. Once we pin down the exact location, then we'll get down there and help. okay. But not before. We have a job to do." He looked at her for a moment, and she nodded.

"Fine. The second we're done though..."

Moving over to a bank of consoles along the rear wall the Black Ranger keyed in a series of commands.

"Andros and the others are standing almost on top of the source of the signal!" Carlos exclaimed. He was with Cassie. They had to get down there.

TJ thought hard. Andros had told them to stay on the ship. None of them , however, had been expecting this. Deciding that protecting his team was more important than doing research, TJ nodded.

"Let's go guys. We'll get the other Space Morphers and bring them too. Who knows if we'll need them of not."

The three remaining Rangers ran towards the Power Vault, and then to the Jump tubes. All of them were secretly excited to have a new mission.

The fighter blurred and seemed to disappear as the blasts fired both at him and in front of him. As the explosions from the blasters erupted, the fighter seemingly reappeared behind the Silver Ranger. He grabbed Zhane firmly around the throat with one arm while the other arm grabbed Zhane's hand and the Silverizer, which the fighter used to fire blasts at both Andros and Ashley.

Moving fluidly and rapidly, the figure pushed the back of Zhane's knees to force him down before he slammed Zhane's wrist, the one on which Zhane wore his morpher, onto the ground with ferocious force. There was a crunch before Zhane de-morphed, his morpher destroyed. The warrior released Zhane and leapt back, resuming his fighting stance and watching to see who would move next.

Zhane looked after seeing his morpher destroyed he said," Crap." Zhane still knew he had to hold the man back, So he ran at the man and threw a punch. The man dodged it like always and so Zhane left his destroyed morpher and ran towards Ashley and Andros. After he caught up to them he said," Guys we have a problem, we need to find the source now or else he is going to catch up and then we are dead." Zhane then said," My morpher is gone."

As soon as she saw what was happening on the planet below, Cassie bolted to her feet. "He just trashed his morpher!" TJ and Carlos had noticed as well, and without a word they turned and ran for the vault. They pulled Morphers for Andros and Ashley as well, just in case.

"Don't worry. That guy may be able to trash one of us, but let's see what happens when he has to face the whole team!" Having just saved the world from total destruction, TJ was a bit more confident in their ability to beat this, even if he shouldn't have been.

Moments later, the three young adults appeared near Andros. "Zhane, you okay man?" Carlos called out. TJ looked to Andros for direction, and patted his pocket, which was bulging with the silhouette of the Red Ranger's morpher. He wasn't going to hand it over right in front of their attacker though. Surprise was a great offense.

Cassie took up a fighting stance and glared the man down. "Who are you?!" She asked again, though she was sure that he would have already given them an answer if he was planning on giving one at all. Strangely, the person he reminded her of the most was the Phantom Ranger. All silence and fighting. But not quite so noble, obviously.

Zhane smiled and said," I am fine, just the morpher is gone." Zhane took a fighting stance and said," Look I know I shouldn't fight guys, but I am still going to help." Zhane then looked at the man and said," You know what trashing my morpher was the worse mistake ever." Zhane took a fighting stance and waited for the others.

Andros was glad to see Ashley so in sync with him as they blasted in attack. Even after the time in retirement that understanding needed for teamwork was still as sharp. He had to crack a small smile hearing that Ashley was even thinking similarly to him when it came to Zhane’s plea for them to retreat.

Unfortunately the blasts did not connect with the fast moving target. Instead their enemy managed to dodge the attack and somehow make it behind Zhane. Using the Silver Rangers own weapon to fire a return blast at Andros and Ashley. Andros tucked and rolled out of the way dodging the blast and the explosion of sparks from where it hit the ground. He gave a quick glance to check if Ashley was ok and had avoided the hit.

Hearing the sounds of struggle from the Silver Ranger Andros turned his attention back to the fighters in time to see the enemy crush his morpher unmorphing the Silver Ranger back into Zhane. Zhane was not backing down and tried to land a hit on the other fighter regardless but still could not connect.


Zhane made a run over to where he and Ashley were still standing on the sidelines watching. The other fighter just remained still keeping his fighting stance.
" Guys we have a problem, we need to find the source now or else he is going to catch up and then we are dead. My morpher is gone."

Andros put his hand on his friend’s shoulder. “Calm down Zhane, we can fix your morpher later. We’ve been in far worse situations then this. We may not know what all is going on here but doesn’t mean we start to panic.”

Andros let go of Zhane and turned around as his three teammates joined them. He didn’t know if they had found the information that they were looking for or if they had just seen the situation and came to help. Either way Andros wasn’t going to question their choice right now. Andros could see the morphers they held and noted TJ trying to indicate that he was holding his. Andros nodded but held up his hand instructing to hold for the moment. Carlos checked on Zhane while Cassie took a fighting stance calling out to the waiting enemy.
"Who are you?!"


“He doesn’t seem to be the talkative type.” Andros commented as he moved into position in front and in the middle of the group. He began to speak low to that his friends could hear him but hopefully the mystery fighter could not.

“He’s moving to fast for us to hit him morphed or unmorphed and he obviously knows how to disable our morphers. I think we should avoid giving him the chance to do it again for as long as possible. Besides we still have other tricks we can use.” Andros pulled out his communicator phone in his pocket enough for the other former Rangers to see. It was connected to DECA on the Astro Megaship and he was busy punching coordinates in with his fingers. “We may not be able to hit him but we still have the strength in numbers to put him on the offensive. If we attack at once and get him to that clearing over there then we can fire the Mega Lasers with a wide enough shot to give him no room to run. That should hopefully take the fight out of him.”

Andros gave a quick look around to make sure the others all heard and understood the plan. There was no time for debate in planing right now. If his idea failed and someone had another idea he would be all ears but right now this was the course of action Andros thought best.

Not giving another word Andros took point and charged towards the enemy with a roundhouse kick to his head. He tried to think fast and fluidly after the kick attempt and made a punch at where he thought the fighter was going to dodge before he would back flip out of the way to give one of his teammates the shot at trying to hit the strange enemy.
