Ah, my first day on the job! I've got a few things set in motion, namely:
QUOTE
In his first official act as boss of Overdrive Records, James Winter has announced an entirely new festival dubbed the "Backlash Festival". A one-day event that will be held in a large park in Texas over a weekend in the middle of February.
February 11th will be the date of the festival, and the show will be a (presumably) sold out crowd of 25,000 fans. The tickets will be $45 and include an all-access pass to meet & greet with any one act on the bill.
The schedule is as follows:
Gates (1:30 P.M.) Local Opening Act (2:30 P.M.) Ghosts Of August (3:15 P.M.) Deuce (4:10 P.M.) 10 Years (5:15) Chevelle (6:30) Disturbed (7:45)
If there is snow or temperatures are low, times will possibly be bumped up.
When asked about the lineup, James had this to say: "I wanted a cohesive lineup that fans were sure to love, but also have a diverse style to it. I think what we have is a near-perfect mixture."
We'll be sure to bring you a review of this new rock festival on February 12th!

-Will a Rocking Acoustics tour take place this summer? Inside sources say that James Winter has begun preparations for a May-July tour.
-Frontman of All That Remains Phil Labonte posted "cnt wait 2 get back 2 rockin on the road! #metallife" on Twitter. Are there tour plans for the metal act? Time will tell, but we think so.

CHEVELLE ANNOUNCE "HATS OFF TO THE BULL" SUPPORT TOUR!
Just recently announced, Chevelle will be embarking on a 34-date tour in support of their latest album, Hats Off To The Bull. The tour will hit up theater-sized venues all across the US and feature songs from the band's entire discography, including their latest single, "Face To The Floor".
Kicking off in Austin, TX on 2/9 and ending in Pittsburg, PA on 4/30, the tour will no doubt stand out to hard rock fans, as Chevelle is toward the forefront of the modern hard rock scene. They won't be hitting the road alone, either. They've enlisted in fellow rockers Trapt and Janus will be coming along for the full ride.
Tickets start at $30, and a special VIP pass for $80 is available. The band fully intends to bring their A-Game. "We're going to get out there and rock like we never have before." drummer Sam Loeffler stated in the announcement of the tour.

Papa Roach are hard at work on their new album, and fully expect a summer release, they've told fans to "hang in there, and keep rocking!"
Similarly, Saliva has begun entering the studio to record their latest outing, though what it is hasn't been revealed.
2 Second Pause will release their new single, "The Fight", on 3/1. They will be filming a music video in the meantime. Their debut album won't be far behind, dropping 3/20, which is entitled "A Forsaken World".

DEUCE APPEARS ON LETTERMAN!
Deuce, hot on the trail of his recent album release "Ninelives", had a blast on Letterman last night. The rap/rock/hip hop star promoted his latest outing by talking about a few of the tracks, cracking a few jokes, and giving a powerful performance of two tracks which the audience enjoyed thoroughly. This has no doubt given Deuce some positive publicity, and he even promoted the Backlash Festival a bit when asked about upcoming shows. Overall, a very successful appearance.
Setlist:
01. I Came To Party 02. America

CHEVELLE ROCK AUSTIN, TX!
It was a long night for anyone who came out to see Chevelle, on the kickoff date of their new tour in Austin, Texas last night! A crowd of about 3,200 strong certainly enjoyed themselves last night seeing the alternative metal act perform with a strong energy and focused, well-sounding performance.
Janus opened the show at about 6:30 with a strong sounding mix of alternative metal and hard rock, with the singer's unique voice fused in to create a neat sounding combo. They sounded good, and had a good amount of energy, good choice to open the show.
Setlist:
01. In Flames 02. Your Arms 03. Stains 04. Polarized 05. Six Letters Sent 06. Eyesore
Trapt is a band whose popularity is slowly resurfacing, and there were definitely a lot of Trapt fans in the audience. They went nuts for "Headstrong", and at least two moshpits were going on "Stand Up". Aside from a technical mishap that cut one of their songs in half and they had to rush to the next one to make up for lost time, Trapt were great, very strong performance.
Setlist:
01. Bring It 02. Who's Going Home With You Tonight? 03. Overloaded 04. Sound Off 05. Stand Up 06. Contagious* 07. Headstrong 08. Still Frame
* = Song not finished due to technical issues
By 8:15, anticipation was hot in the air as the crowd awaited the arrival of Chevelle to the stage. It took until 8:30, but they came out fast and hard, powering through their first few songs before even addressing the crowd, though after that, they were thanking the crowd seemingly after every song. Their hard-hitting 14 song set didn't let up at all, but it was "The Red" that had all the fans singing their hearts out. Very good performance from the headliner.
Setlist:
01. Antisaint 02. Clones 03. Vitamin R (Leading Us Along) 04. Send The Pain Below 05. Letter From A Thief 06. Face To The Floor 07. Hats Off To The Bull 08. The Fad 09. Mia 10. Shameful Metaphors 11. The Clincher 12. The Red ENCORE: 13. Sleep Apnea 14. I Get It
Overall: 4.5/5 A near-perfect rock show halted only by a few minor technical issues.

BACKLASH FESTIVAL REVIEW
It was a cloudy day as the gates opened yesterday at around 1:30 P.M. Not quite a sellout, but close, under 100 tickets were left, being sold at the gates yesterday. The stage set up was interesting, from 10 Years onwards it was tailored to each band specifically, which was neat.
The first act was a local band called Swallow, who didn't have much to offer in the way of uniqueness or originality, but their generic rock music served as a decent opener.
Setlist:
01. In The Name Of Metal 02. Fire The Main Guns! 03. Party At Your House 04. Corporate Life 05. The Killer
Ghosts Of August are a relatively unknown band, but served as a much stronger act than Swallow. They provided some first-pumping hard rock that really got the fans going, it's a shame their set was so short, but they definitely brought the thunder.
Setlist:
01. The Crutch 02. Lived It Up 03. Broken 04. Scars 05. Sincerely, Anonymous 06. Disease
Deuce, former ex-frontman of Hollywood Undead, brought his own style of rock to the show as well. Mixing tracks that contain hip hop and party elements with rock-infused fist pumpers, he definitely had to work to win over the crowd, but most were throwing their first in the air by the time he closed with his smash hit "America".
Setlist:
01. 9Lives 02. I Came To Party 03. The One 04. Story Of A Snitch 05. Let's Get It Crackin 06. Nobody Likes Me 07. Gravestone 08. America
10 Years got a huge pop from the crowd and brought a thunderous amount of alternative metal with them. They had the fans throwing their fists in the air from their first song. Their sound cut out halfway through their set and caused them to cut a song, but even so, they were definitely one of the better acts of the day, they impressed everyone.
Setlist:
01. Dead In The Water 02. Now Is The Time (Ravenous) 03. Drug Of Choice 04. Wasteland 05. Beautiful* 06. Fix Me* 07. Through The Iris 08. Shoot It Out
* = Sound cut out halfway through Beautiful, and forced them to cut Fix Me
Chevelle, only 2 dates deep in their own headlining tour, took a Saturday off their tour, instead opting to play at the first ever Backlash Festival. They definitely had intensity, and were, dare I say, the loudest band there. Chevelle sounded great, and rocked hard, making sure to thank the crowd after nearly every song. Great performance.
Setlist:
01. Antisaint 02. Clones 03. Vitamin R (Leading Us Along) 04. Send The Pain Below 05. Letter From A Thief 06. Face To The Floor 07. Shameful Metaphors 08. The Red 09. I Get It
Disturbed, the headlining act, and the band most people were there to see. A very solid performance from Disturbed, no doubt. Nobody walked away unsatisfied. But Chevelle and 10 Years were the standout performances, no doubt. Still, a good show from the headliners, complete with all of their hits and a few surprises.
Setlist:
01. Haunted 02. Inside The Fire 03. Liberate 04. Stricken 05. Prayer 06. Voices 07. The Animal 08. Ten Thousand Fists 09. The Game 10. The Night 11. Warrior 12. Hell ENCORE: 13. Down With The Sickness 14. Asylum 15. Living After Midnight (Judas Priest Cover)
Overall: 4/5 A good start for the Backlash festival, I'd like to see this as a regular gig, I'd say everyone walked away satisfied, and the line up was impressive.

METALLICA ROCK DENMARK!
A capacity crowd of around 20,000 came out to see the legendary heavy metal band Metallica last night! It was an awesome event that's sure to live in the fans memories for years to come! Despite an air conditioning failure towards the end of the show, it was epic!
Kicking off the show was rising hard rock act Rev Theory. They definitely got the crowd pumped up, I honestly can't think of a better opening act for this tour, they definitely rocked! Lead singer Rich Luzzi has amazing crowd control skills.
Setlist:
01. Dead In A Grave 02. Far From Over 03. The Fire 04. Justice 05. Light It Up 06. Hell Yeah
Drowning Pool definitely had some fans in the crowd, and their alternative metal followed the performance of Rev Theory perfectly. They came out fast, hard, and strong, letting up only for their anthem "37 Stitches". They definitely had the most energy out of all of the support acts.
Setlist:
01. Let The Sin Begin 02. Tear Away 03. Turn So Cold 04. Step Up 05. Sinner 06. 37 Stitches 07. Shame 08. Bodies
Three Days Grace also clearly had some fans in the audience, but something seemed to be off with the group last night. They sounded decent, but there was only a little crowd interaction and few thanks. Not sure if they were having a bad night or what. Still, decent performance.
Setlist:
01. Bitter Taste 02. The Good Life 03. Pain 04. I Hate Everything About You 05. World So Cold 06. Riot 07. Home 08. Animal I Have Become 09. *
* = Break was supposed to be the final song but this was crossed off the setlist
Metallica hit the stage fast and furious, ripping into "Enter Sandman" with a passion unmatched in recent years. Though the band's often 2-3 hour concert time was cut in half for this tour, they slugged out most of their hits and the fans had a great time. Given their age, the cut back on concert length is understandable, and they had a very commendable passion and energy.
Setlist:
01. Enter Sandman 02. Sad But True 03. Cyanide 04. Master Of Puppets 05. Harvester Of Sorrow 06. St. Anger 07. The Memory Remains 08. Nothing Else Matters 09. The Day That Never Comes 10. Seek & Destroy 11. The Unforgiven 12. Fade To Black ENCORE: 13. That Was Just Your Life 14. One 15. Wherever I May Roam

AVALANCHE TOUR 2012 ANNOUNCEMENT!
Overdrive Records continues their touring cycle with the Avalanche Tour! Initially created by Stone Sour, they will be headlining this year as well, with Breaking Benjamin securing the main support slot and metal band All That Remains finding a place smack in the middle of the bill. Towards the start of the show you'll also be seeing Sick Puppies and 2 Second Pause.
The tour will trek across the US for 24 dates total, running from 3/26 in Omaha to 5/4 in Washington. Smaller arenas will be the target venue, with 3 stops being played in outdoor settings/fairs. The tour seems to stick to the East coast after the first few days.
Tickets will run you about $45, $90 for a special VIP package that includes meeting Breaking Benjamin and an exclusive backstage pass to see each band's locker room, along with various perks such as free T-shirts and posters.
"We're ready to bring it to the fans, and we're not coming alone. Got a kickass line up that's going to blow your mind." Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor said during the tour announcement.
Linkin Park will be appearing on Leno on 2/24 to support their new EP which comes out 2/22.
Deuce will be live on Kansas City's radio station 98.9 on 3/3 to make a special announcement.

MONTHLY RUMOR MILL
-First, we'd like to point out we successfully brought you All That Remains' tour announcement almost a MONTH before they announced it! You can fully trust us, people!
-Three Days Grace are reportedly bringing in just average performances on the Metallica tour, and are more or less the "worst" part of the show. Our inside sources say this is due to lead guitarist Barry Stock having issues with other members of the band.
-Halestorm will be making a tour announcement late this month on Octane, but for what? Our guess is they've got a main support slot for either the Annihilation Festival Tour, or the Rocking Acoustics Tour, which we still predict will run the course of the summer.
-Summer festivals are beginning to scout potential headliners. Standout names being kicked around include: Godsmack, Three Days Grace (unlikely), Hollywood Undead, and Shinedown.
-Lastly, in a posting on Papa Roach's official forum, lead singer Jacoby Shaddix is really excited about the new album, and spoke of, among other things, possible summer festivals, a headlining tour, and at least two singles over the summer, before a potential fall release. We foresee a single in April and another in July, before an album drop and tour in September through the rest of the year. UPDATE: Posting deleted by moderator.

MONTHLY RUMOR MILL SHOCKING UPDATE! THREE DAYS GRACE DONE FOR GOOD?
In what was an act of disrespect towards the fans, Three Days Grace got two songs into their set last night at the Metallica concert, before lead guitarist Barry Stock walked off the stage. Lead singer Adam reportedly went over to Barry after the band performed "The Good Life" (second song in their set) and the two conversed for a few minutes before Barry shook his head and left the stage.
This left the rest of the band dumbfounded. Bassist Brad Walst ran off stage to try and get Barry back on, but he simply refused. Tons of rumors have surfaced about what was possibly said to Barry, but most sources seem to agree it was Adam telling Barry they simply needed "more" from him, that he wasn't up to par at all.
We expect an official announcement from Overdrive later today. Stay tuned for the latest info here!

THREE DAYS GRACE UPDATE
Hello fans. James from Overdrive Records here.
As most of you are well aware, Three Days Grace encountered issues in their performance at the Metallica concert last night. Barry Stock, lead guitarist, exited the stage and refused to continue performing about 10 minutes into the show. Both Adam and Barry have their sides to the story, but the general consensus is that Barry has been battling alcoholism issues since late 2009 and has gotten progressively worse, and has hindered any and all performances increasingly noticeably since mid-2011. During the Metallica tour his habits began affecting the morale of the band, and Adam decided to make this perfectly clear to him during the middle of last night's show.
Three Days Grace have a guitar tech who will perform in place of Barry for tonight and tomorrow's shows, following that, the band will fly back home to Canada and re-evaluate their decisions and are officially leaving the Metallica support tour. We should have an update over the summer concerning Three Days Grace and their decisions.
In the meantime, a few local European metal acts will be joining the Metallica tour until metal act Five Finger Death Punch can fly over on 3/5 and join the tour in place of Three Days Grace.
Thank you guys for your patience.

LINKIN PARK DISTANT HORIZON REMIX EP REVIEW!
Linkin Park have unleashed their latest recordings to the world, in the form of a Remix EP entitled "Distant Horizon" that features remixes from their latest album, 2010's A Thousand Suns, along with 2 new tracks. Well, technically, 1 new track. Making Me Fall was officially recorded in early 2009, when the band was testing material for A Thousand Suns.
The EP kicks off with "Waiting For The End (War-Torn Battlefield Remix)", which opens with sounds of war and drums, and leads into a softer, piano-centric remix that ends as a solid rocker with persistent guitars and steady drums. "The Messenger (Club Mix)" Turns the purely acoustic song into a soft club mix that suits the song surprisingly well. Mind you, this isn't some dubstep dance remix, but something that wouldn't feel out of place at an easy going, casual club when it's time for a soft song. Big surprise there.
"Burning In The Skies (Definitive End Remix)" replaces the synths and pianos in the original with string instruments and acoustic guitars. This works in a way, and gives the song a more soundtrack orchestrated feel, but the vocals don't blend too well with the style. "The Catalyst (Razor's Edge Remix)" pushes the record in a more rock direction, cutting out the electronica elements of the original and replacing them with acoustic drums throughout and heavy guitars. This works decently, but I prefer the original. It also shortens the runtime to 3:54. "Wretches & Kings (Overthrow The World Remix)" Brings out the band's hip hop roots and is reminiscent of High Voltage and Nobody's listening, this works well and adds a nice contrasting layer to the EP.
"Robot Boy (Distorted Rebellion Remix)" Is far too similar to the "What I've Done (Distorted Remix)" that was released a few years ago. The song is basically played back through one of those "underwater" filters, with the first and second verses rearranged, and a dubste-ish breakdown in the bridge. Not feeling this one. And lastly, the two original songs. "Making Me Fall" sounds like something off Minutes To Midnight, like if you combined "Leave Out All The Rest" and "From The Inside". Soft in the verses, heavy in the chorus. Old school LP fans will love it. "Distant Horizon" rounds off the record with a piano ballad that turns into an electronic rocker, not bad but not good, sounds like an A Thousand Suns b-side.
Overall - 8/10 A mostly decent remix EP with a few new tracks to tide fans over.

LINKIN PARK DISTANT HORIZON CONSENSUS
What are the critics saying?
"Good, only if you're a hardcore Linkin Park fan craving more though." - That Rock Review Blog
"Packing nowhere near the sense of style or scale as Reanimation, their previous remix album, Distant Horizon falls into the clasp of mediocrity." - Kick Ass Rockers Review Blog
"Reminiscent of Renanimation, except douse with A Thousand Suns flavor and add in a few surprises. Decent, but not amazing" - Metal Heads Magazine
"Almost there, but not quite, the new track Making Me Fall is the only one worth listening to, the rest, you can find better remixes on Youtube. Not awful, but not amazing." - Rockers Around The Globe Blog
Linkin Park's "Distant Horizon Remix EP" has opened at #7 on the charts! Very impressive!

LINKIN PARK APPEAR ON LENO!
All 6 members of Linkin Park were live on Jay Leno last night, where they gave a strong 18-minute interview followed by a performance of two of their hits to close the show. The band talked about their new "Distant Horizon Remix EP" and gave insight to a possible Projekt Revolution tour this summer. The band also stuck around to sign autographs after the show. Overall, a pretty successful appearance, with an awesome performance to close the show!
Setlist:
01. Making Me Fall 02. Waiting For The End (War-Torn Battlefield Remix)
2/28/12
Chevelle's tour continues to rock theaters around the USA. A review from a local paper touted last night's show in Miami as "by far the best rock concert this year so far. DO NOT MISS!". We're making a great profit, every show has been sold out thus far. Maybe a continuation is in order? The shows run through 4/30, be sure to catch Chevelle, Trapt, and Janus at a venue near you!
Metallica's tour is bringing in 10,000 fans at least each night, and the European fans have been very hungry for some Metallica, and boy are they receiving it. Though more recent reviews are noting that the guys from Metallica seem pretty tired, they move around plenty during the show, and a strong performance from both supporting bands and Metallica make for a killer show. The tour continues through the 24th of April.

SALIVA APPEAR ON OCTANE, UNLEASH NEW SINGLE!
All of Saliva were live on Octane last night! The band gave a 10 minute long interview where they talked about life on the road, writing for the new record, and then talked about the new single right before debuting it.
The single, "A Loaded Gun", is a rock anthem with distorted guitars, heavy drums, and is heavier than your typical Saliva song, invoking some screaming during the later parts in verses and the bridge. Overall, it's a catchy fist-pumper that's sure to please any hard rock fan.
Saliva's new single " A Loaded Gun" has opened at #63 on the charts!

2 SECOND PAUSE BURST ONTO HARD ROCK SCENE WITH "A FORSAKEN EMPIRE" DEBUT ALBUM!
Tracklist:
Wounded Flesh Mere Disbelief Flames Alive Forever And Never Loaded Bullet Razors And Alcohol What A Life Mixing With The Wrong Crowd The Fight Lights Out
2 Second Pause are relative newbies to the hard rock scene, but they're bringing the fire, no doubt. Their debut album "A Forsaken Empire" enlists in driving riffs, heavy drums, a pounding bass line, and powerful vocals that takes the listener through 10 tracks of in your face rock that spans borderline metalcore to soft rock.
The album opens with the relatively quiet riff of "Wounded Flesh", which transitions into a heavy instrumental track featuring double kick pedals and no vocals, serving simply as an intro to the album. "Mere Disbelief" picks up right where the opening track left off as lead singer John Cholos opens the song with a gut-wrenching scream. The track has plenty of screaming in the verses, which leads to a powerful, clean chorus. A metal anthem for sure.
"Flames Alive" kicks things into pure hard rock mode, opening with a quick snare hit and guitar strum, and we're off into a catchy, pounding rhythm where the lyrics describe someone who "Feels so alive, the flames are burning tonight/So strong, the fire is alive tonight!"
The pace is slowed to a mid-tempo rocker for the fourth track, "Forever And Never" which speaks of someone battling whether they can make good on a promise internally. This is a highlight on the album, one of only two slow songs and it shows a lighter side of the band.
As just as quick as we'd slowed things down, we're back to metal with "Loaded Bullet", which is no doubt the heaviest track on the album, featuring prominent screaming throughout, only stopping for the occasional clean vocal in the chorus. "Razors And Alcohol" opens with an electro riff that transforms into a heavy guitar, and becomes the most generic track on the album, with shouted vocals about being pissed off at the world for no apparent reason. "What A Life" somewhat follows this trend, although it's more bearable with a catchy chorus and technical breakdown.
"Mixing With The Wrong Crowd" strikes an alternative metal vibe mixed in with some groove metal, meaning you can both tap your foot and bang your head to it as we're met with a piercing, but catchy, riff and vocals that describe a metaphorical crowd as an obstacle in the singer's life. "The Fight", the first single off the album, fuses together a synth-based riff with metal rhythm for an awesome verse progression, and fires off into a wall of sound for the epic chorus, which has interplay between singing and screaming. "Lights Out" is the last song, and starts off with a quiet piano and just the singer, but slowly progresses to a powerful ballad to close the album.
Overall, this is a very impressive debut by 2 Second Pause. A blend of styles and diversity makes this album have several highlights, with only a few mediocre or generic tracks. The best tracks are no doubt Mere Disbelief and The Fight. Definitely worth checking out for the hard rock, alternative metal, or metal fan, even.
Overall: 8.5/10 An excellent debut by an up and coming hard rock band.

2 SECOND PAUSE "A FORSAKEN EMPIRE" CONSENSUS
2 Second Pause have finally come onto the hard rock scene with their debut album "A Forsaken Empire". Featuring in-your-face riffs, pounding beats, and wall-of-sound choruses, how does the album fare with critics?
"A strong debut. Not the best, but strong. These guys are worth checking out." - 98.9 Blog
"Keeping it fresh with some layered diversity in their tracks, 2 Second Pause doesn't let up much on the album, save for a few slow songs. The best hard rock debut of this year." -That Rock Review Blog
"With a style comparable to Disturbed mixed with Killswitch Engage, injected with a slight Buckcherry flavor, 2 Second Pause will no doubt be rolling with the big names of rock soon. Very impressive debut album." - Metal Edge Magazine
"Not many bands can blow onto the scene like this. Five Finger Death Punch was the last. 2 Second Pause are a powerful alt metal act with the sound to push themselves to the top of the charts if they continue on like this." - Octane Review Article
Five Finger Death Punch's new single "The Pride" has opened at #43 on the charts! The music video has also premiered, featuring the band playing in varying settings of fame, glitz, glamour, and other material things.

There's some really kick ass bands on this tour, and we're honored to share the stage with them. We're ready to rock out!" Lead singer John Cholos had to say in a video interview.

MONTHLY RUMOR MILL
-We're expecting a Three Days grace update of some sort before the month is over. They're a really popular band, they can't stay out of action for long.
-Expect a Annihilation tour announcement from Overdrive in the coming weeks. Our guesses for headliners? Either Shinedown, Godsmack, or Five Finger Death Punch. We also expect to see Chevelle, as well.
-Linkin Park only has one date scheduled, and a festival date at that, for the summer. We're pretty sure they're gearing up for a Projekt Revolution tour.
-Skillet's entered the studio, we're predicting a fall release for their new album.
-Where the hell is Disturbed? We've received inside info that David Draiman has a coke problem and has locked himself in his house.

AVALANCHE TOUR ROCKS WICHITA!
On the third date of the Avalanche tour, the bands rolled into Wichita, KS at the Hartman Arena to perform. The excitement was off the chain, and all 7,000 fans were absolutely psyched to see all the bands perform! The show was very impressive, from technical lighting to pyro for the headliners, definitely an all out rock show, nobody left unsatisfied.
2 Second Pause opened the show with their hard rock meets metalcore style, and for being a new band, you'd swear they'd been on a stage for years. They sounded good, and performed great. Most of the fans liked the opening act, a very good set from the show opener.
Setlist:
01. Wounded Flesh 02. Mere Disbelief 03. What A Life 04. Forever And Never 05. The Fight
Sick Puppies came out fast and furious, rocking the crowd and making sure everyone was having a good time. Despite lead singer Shimon Moore forgetting the lyrics on the second verse of "All The Same", the band put in a great performance, it's a shame they were confined to a 30 minute set, next time they should be bumped up.
Setlist:
01. Should've Known Better 02. My World 03. All The Same 04. Odd One 05. Pitiful 06. You're Going Down
All That Remains were absolutely the heaviest band on the bill, and they definitely brought the loudest sound and most energy. Lead singer Phil Labonte was jumping around on each song, and their set featured no slowdowns or mid-tempo songs. The fans were eating out of the palm of their hand by the third song in, and it only got better from there. Great performance!
Setlist:
01. Chiron 02. This Calling 03. The Last Time 04. Won't Go Quietly 05. Six 06. Two Weeks 07. Hold On 08. The Air That I Breathe
Breaking Benjamin hit the stage a little late, but as the co-headlining act, they had tons of fans in the crowd and got a really positive reception. Lead singer Ben Burnley sounded like he was in the beginning stages of getting sick, but he powered through all the hits last night and sounded fine in doing so. Not as much energy as All That Remains, but a good performance from Breaking Benjamin!
Setlist:
01. Blow Me Away 02. Breath 03. Until The End 04. Sooner Or Later 05. Give Me A Sign 06. So Cold 07. Lights Out 08. Better Days 09. I Will Not Bow 10. Diary Of Jane
Stone Sour came on about 12 minutes late, but the performance more than made up for it. The headliners delivered in what was a strong hour-and-20-minute show filled with all their hits and a couple surprises. Corey Taylor made his way down to the front row of the crowd and got them singing along for "Say You'll Haunt Me" and had fans singing along until they closed with "30/30-150"
Setlist:
01. Hate Not Gone 02. Mission Statement 03. Hell & Consequences 04. Blotter 05. Socio 06. Say You'll Haunt Me 07. Through Glass 08. Unfinished 09. Reborn 10. Digital (Did You Tell) 11. Inhale 12. 30/30-150 ENCORE: 13. Come What(ever) May (With Ben from Breaking Benjamin and Phil from All That Remains)
Overall, the show was excellent. No technical issues or bad performances. This is definitely worthy of being called the tour of the summer, and it will be awesome to see if it gets any competition. I'd definitely recommend going if it's coming near you, awesome show!
Overall: 5/5

DRAIMAN MAKES FIRST APPEARANCE IN MONTHS ON LIVE CHAT!
David Draiman, frontman of Disturbed, went live on ustream last night to chat with all the fans. About 300 showed up, and had an abundance of questions for David, to which he attempted to answer most of. He gave his current favorite album, what he's been up to in his personal life, and talked about where Disturbed had come.
He then went on to say it was too early to tell, but he hoped Disturbed would be back on the road this fall for a tour, and then recording a new album by this time next year, though he said a lot of things are still in the works.
Overall, the fans loved talking to David and it was both a breath of fresh air and a reassurance to hear him talk about the band for the first time in months.

Things got a bit heated last night at the Avalanche tour in Los Angeles as technical issues would present themselves late in the show, reducing Breaking Benjamin's set to 2 1/2 songs and cutting 4 songs from Stone Sour's set. 10 YEARS ROCK ON DEBUT HOUR OF POWER
Hour Of Power is a new web series that airs on Octane's website and will possibly start being shown on Fuse, depending on the popularity. Performed in front of a live, albeit small, audience, the bands get a 45-minute set with ads to fill in the other 15.
10 Years was the debut band, and they definitely were a great choice. They brought a good energy about them, and sounded great, especially lead singer Jesse Hasek. An all around great performance, the only downside being the favor of playing newer songs in favor of familiar, popular old ones. Hardly a negative, though.
Setlist:

BURNING DESIRES TOUR REVIEW!
Flyleaf and Halestorm, two of the most popular female-fronted rock bands, have joined forces and embarked on a US tour dubbed the "Burning Desires" Tour. And it made its first stop in Boston last night. Opting for a club setting, a healthy 1,200 packed into the venue to rock out last night.
My Darkest Days kicked off the show, but technical issues plagued them to the point of them only getting 3 songs out out their 6 song set. Unfortunate, but these types of issues aren't uncommon. For what it's worth, they didn't sound too bad.
Setlist:
01. Sick And Twisted Affair 02. Move Your Body* 03. Like Nobody Else 04. Save Yourself* 05. Casual Sex 06. Porn Star Dancing*
* = Song not performed due to technical issues
Sevendust fared better, completing their 40-minute set in relative tranquility, although this extended to their performance. We didn't see the usual energy from the guys, save for a couple songs. They sounded great, but they could've moved around some more. Still, the fans were really into them, well done.
Setlist:
01. Prodigal Son 02. Unraveling 03. Enemy 04. Waffle 05. Driven 06. Feed 07. Forever Dead 08. Denial
Halestorm, the co-headliners of the tour, definitely brought the fire, though. They blew the roof off the place, and everyone was going crazy when they came on. Energy, great sound, and an amazing stage presence, Halestorm gave the best performance of the night, no doubt, leading the fans through their opening song "Mz. Hyde", and getting them pounding their fists to "Daughters Of Darkness".
Setlist:
01. Mz. Hyde 02. I Miss The Misery 03. It's Not You 04. I'm Not An Angel 05. You Call Me A Bitch Like It's A Bad Thing 06. Familiar Taste Of Poison 07. Love Bites (So Do I) 08. Love/Hate Heartbreak 09. Daughters Of Darkness 10. I Get Off
Flyleaf were the last band to play, although I get the feeling a lot of people in the crowd were there to see Halestorm over Flyleaf. Flyleaf didn't disappoint by any stretch of the word, though. They put in one hell of a performance and played their hearts out. Halestorm had the better sound, but Flyleaf literally gave their all in their performances, both bands are an amazing combination, and I'm very impressed. Flyleaf had the crowd singing along to their hits "Again" and "I'm So Sick" completely.
Setlist:
01. All Around Me 02. In The Dark 03. Fully Alive 04. Beautiful Bride 05. Breathe Today 06. Again 07. Chasm 08. Perfect 09. Arise 10. Cassie ENCORE: 11. Sorrow 12. I'm So Sick (With Lzzy Hale of Halestorm) 13. How He Loves
