Rewrite Version 1.0.4

Just to let you all know a new version (1.0.4) of Insomnia: Night Shift will be released soon. I have rewritten a whole heap of the code, and gone through about 70% of the game already and patched up A LOT of my old script (it was actually quite scary!).

I know this game wasnt very popular among the general OG community, but it has received quiet good reviews outside of these parts (just see Download.com for one) and im really doing it for those who want to play the game, but either get an error or a crash that stuffs up the entire game for them.

Hopefully a new version will be out within the week

Great news, I loved playing it, although the time I could due to crashes was limited, hopefully this rewrite will make it stable enough to play again.

i tried it ages ago i think but can't really remember it, i might try it again once i get back home

Well you might as well wait until the new version is released cause its a hell of a lot better (and its a lot less buggy)

So far ive shaved off around 5-6,000 lines of code off the game. Amazing what I've learnt since then.. things can be done soooooooo much easier. Btw its looking really good.. I also just went through and updated some of the graphics and aligned a few things a little better, etc.

so it will be a smaller download too then right? not that it was all that big anyways but...

Should be.. ive removed a heap of stuff so its logical that it'd be smaller in size.. but who knows -- i havent actually compiled a .exe yet.

when will this be ready then?

EDIT: btw i downloaded version that u had already and after a while playing it i was pretty addicted i think and then it crashed so i see what you mean

Hopefully in a few days time.. I just started a new job working split shifts so I havent had much time to finish off where I left it.. but it'll be ready soon (i got to do some more testing as well).

Hey BTW guys if you can spot a certain part of the game that crashes at a certain point can you please let me know where it is.. its been a while since bug reports came in and I cant remember now what still works and what doesnt. Cheers

No actually ive been busy working.. the game looks fine so I'll probebly end up releasing it tonight sometime. We'll see how things go.. its my first day off in ages so all i wanna do is relax.
