Memphis Drive

This is the first time ive announced this game.. i've been working on it for ageeeeeees now.. but i've always kept it under wraps (as i did with a few of my other projects).

Memphis Drive is a simulation game, which let's you run a crew (or solo) of car theives, working the Long Beach, USA area. It's pretty much Gone In 60 Seconds, with a few more twists. You buy new tools that will help you boost cars easier, you've got a notoriety meter, and of cause there's the gangs which you have to pay off (plus a heap of other things of cause).

Memphis Drive was originally set to be Insomnia 2, but since I now have plans for Insomnia 2, i renamed this game.

But anyway.. once there's more for you guys to see, i'll post some screenshots and start a new forum. Expect a 2007 release.. oh and this is my official side-project to Hades, so it should be completed fairly rapidly. Also I haven't decided wether this will be freeware or shareware yet, we'll just have to wait and see (and no, complaining will not change my mind either way).

Well here's a dev shot if anyone's interested.. of cause its a long way from being finished, but about 60% of it is there:



You'll probebly notice it looks a tad like Insomnia.. well.. makes sense right? lol It's supposed to be its sequel.. but anyway, it's got some cool new nifty things.. and I plan on throwing some ideas I had for BS2 in there before I finish up (doing away with scrollbars, etc).

this game sounds awesome! but which gone in 60 seconds are you talking about??? the good one or the Nicholas Cage one?

What about other areas not just this place.

Yes, the game'll most probebly be open to 3 additional areas:

Miami, FL
Los Angeles, CA,
Phoenix, AZ

Miami will be mostly a hideaway location where you can do some boosting, but its around the California area (Arizona included) where most'll the action will take place.
