Superbad and Knocked Up were my favorite movies this year. Gone Baby Gone would be up there though. If you have not seen this movie, go and see it. Charlie Wilson's War was pretty good too. I saw both on Saturday, and worth the ticket fee.
This year had a lot of good movies.

Gone Baby Gone...the Afleck directed movie? I wanna see that...
shoe1985 - January 4, 2008 03:11 AM (GMT)
Yes, Affleck directed and co-wrote it. He did a great job.
djrussell - January 4, 2008 06:52 AM (GMT)
Did ya hear - he's been cast in the State of Play movie. Edward Norton and Brad Pitt originally signed up, but Brad Pitt left a week before shooting due to script disagreements (and replaced by Russell Crowe) and Edward Norton left due to scheduling conflicts - so they agreed to let Ben Affleck star as his replacement to seal the deal (they both go through the same casting agency).
Edward Norton and Brad Pitt would've been better.. but still, Ben Affleck and Russell Crowe is a good lineup too :)

I can't remember all the movies I saw this year but from the films in the list I liked:
Die Hard 4.0
Blood Diamond (I really liked it. Perhaps my favourite.)
Spiderman 3 was good. Not as good as the others.
Atonement
Simpsons Movie was quite good. Not as good as I expected.
Pirates of the Caribbean
Mr. Bean's Holiday was also good. ;) I think I was the only person who liked it.
Was the Prestige 2006 or 2007? It was amazing.

Don't think I saw that many 2007 movies...I can't really remember
I do remember though that I have watched Blood DIamond and The Simpsons Movie. I agree to Metalman that Blood Diamond was good. In fact, I think it was really great :P Simpsons Movie was a big letfown for me. I thought it would be really fun and that I woulf laugh all the time watvhing it, but I didn't laugh that much of it...
Oh and of course the newest Pirats of the Caribbean. That one was okay, not as good as the other ones

Only agree to your first sentence, united... :P
Haven't watched either Blood Diamond or Simpsons...
And the newest Pirates was amazing.

I've seen loads of 2007 films, can't remember them all. Quite a few were really good as well.
Dawson - January 7, 2008 06:42 PM (GMT)
I had really low expectations for the Simpsons movie, didnt think they could do it for a whole 2hrs..but it was pretty good..there were some completely not funny moments but its worth watching again and again.
and Norton and Pitt sound like a classic film..too bad that didnt happen. and is it just me, but Russel Crowe has like 3-4 movies coming out this year?
djrussell - January 7, 2008 11:45 PM (GMT)
