Okay, don't laugh..



... okay, go ahead and laugh. I am making this Flash game (using ActionScript) for my college course. Basically "Extermination" sits you inside 20 tons of steel, wielding a cannon at Iraqi's coming to blow you up. Now before people start crying "racist!" - get over it. It's supposed to be fun.. and it's very stereotypical... there are Iraqi’s running in from all directions with bombs strapped to them, American spies running in a tripping off land mines, etc. Now if the suicide bombers hit you what do you think will happen? That’s right! If they jump on your tank - KABOOM! - you go up in flames.

You've got three lives, and the game includes 6 different types of items ('boosters' - health, ammo, speed, etc). As well as 3 types of Iraqi’s, and 3 different types of 'splatter' (but i may be adding more in). It's taken me around 40 hours to get it where it is right now.. i've had to learn a new language and build the game from scratch.

I will be posting this game up in about 1-3 weeks time to play, and will probably be adding it to the Osiris Games arcade section :) Let me know what you think.. its pretty funny, and its a lot of fun :P

Oh btw ill be posting up the game script for people to have a look at (if your interested).. it was a learning exercise for me, so i figured it might be able to help some other people interested in programming in Flash (ActionScript) too.

i did some action script awhile ago, made a cartoon about a ninja (thats how i got the ninja at the end of my name :D) are you using Flash Mx damien, if you are, thats what i used , its good.

game looks great btw. I have flash 8 so Ill be wanting the script off you when you post it, ive never been very good with flash, ive made a snake game and a tetris game (both using tutorials) but thats it.

A snake clone was actually my original project.. but I found it way to hard and advanced for what I wanted (suprisingly hard infact)..

i didnt think that snake would be hard...i thought it would be rather simple...but hey, you learn something new everyday

Thats exactly what I thought, thats why I wanted to do it! lol But nope.. its actually suprisingly complicated.

Update:

Did another day's work on the game today.. its coming along really well.. its looking tones better then the screenie, so I'll have to post some new ones up soon. A lot more blood, the blood splatter looks a lot more realistic and now theres shit like planes flying over the place dropping bombs n stuff as well lol Pretty cool..
