Today I have finished (well almost finished) the main body of the sleights. It is painted but I need to do a “nail day” and add greenstuff nails here and there and then paint them metal but it won’t take a lot of time!
Well I started each of the walls by painting it (well only wooden parts but that’s around 90% of surface ![]() Then all were drybrushed with the mix of bestial and blenched bone (I think I described it few posts earlier) got me here: ![]() Then metal work (again described earlier) ![]() And there were only few places I have to finish. I need to say that I love those places, the small spots that make the model so special, and to be true not so boring (well only wood and metal – Yuk!). Unfortunately I do those with blending in most cases which prevents me to make WIP pics – sorry but it is just impossible as I need to stand up and go to another end of the room to make a good pic with good light and that takes to long! Anyways: ![]() Standard NG moon. Base coated with bestial brown + sunburst yellow mix. Then some lighter mix and pure yellow after that I started to add white to the mix and painted it until I decided that this is enough (of course each step was painted on the smaller surface) Eyes were painted red (red gore/ red gore + blood red / blood red + white) teeth with bestial -> blenched bone in around 3-4 steps. ![]() The best part HE shield. I decided to surrender some time and make it something special and I’m happy with what I received Jewel was basecoated red gore than painted in lower parts with red gore and blood red, then pure blood red , then added some white to the mix and even some more and at the end I painted a sun reflection spot in the upper part with the lightest mix I achieved and highlighted it with pure white. And that is all about shield I also made some red dags here and there using thinned down red gore then painting over wet pain mix of red gore and blood R, then pure really watered down Blood 2 or 3 times. And so it is Front-Right Right side Rear Left side Front-left |

Well it is time to write something. Sorry that it took me so long – many things happened. Also not much has been done as I’m feeling sick and generally don’t have energy to do more. Still some converting was done
First of all I apologize – I made more WIP but as usual some of them turn out so blurry that they couldn’t be used. Here are the ones I did select for today’s part: ![]() The first crew member. Unfortunately I don’t have earlier pics of this guy – he has the “armored” goblin torso and goblin head with cut away hair and ears. What I did was to glue his arm (it’s position were very important) and head – then put some GS around his pace (to make the hoods end) and then apply more to make the surface smooth, then I added 3 or so folds on the neck coz I think this way hoods do bend. After that I put a sausage of GS around the hoods end (after the first GS got hard of course) and poke it several times with my sculpting tool (needle or toothpick d just fine) ----> ![]() Then I cut away the NG arm sleeve and made longer with GS, The procedure is the same – first the end of a sleeve (it helps to glue GS away from hand at the end of the sleeve – without that it would look unnatural) and then the rest – unfortunately there are no WIP pics :/ ![]() Then it is time for a second crewman: ![]() Legs and torso are recognizable I think, this I a NG head with hood cut away. ![]() I add GS to smooth the surface and make it look like one part with the shirt or whatever he is wearing: P Then the same trick with poking greenstuff sausage with needle/toothpick ![]() And this is it. I don’t feel well enough to start the next one and I need to wait until GS hardens in order to do anything more. Also I’m starting the snow experiment and I think I will be finishing base soon (depending on results of course … |

Today there will be no Pics - my father took camera with him for his job (dunno) so no WIP PICS today (also I know i had to post gobbo and NGobbo units - pics turned out bloory and i wanted to make them again - i will try tommorow if camera will come back here)
today i finished converting 2 crewman (well almost) and start the third one and... I made a base (snow) I don't know hod does it look like as i want to wait full 24 h before i dust the rest of the baking soda away So i won't say anything more maybe exept the fact I'm a bit affrai that i added not enought soda for the mix (first I makde a mix of PVA and soda, then i spread it over the base and then i covered it with more soda. the mix is there instead of PVA coz when it dries it becomes transperent instead of white and soda chnges this a bit. On the other hand the mix is not so gluy as pure PVa and I'm affraid that soda may fall off. Well i will see it tomorrow and let you know. hopefully i will post some pics too ... |

Well what do you know. My father returned earlier and I could make some pictures today. Those show the two almost finished crew members. One of them have a hole in his hand – this is because there will be a whip there (and this is why they are not completely finished).
![]() ![]() ![]() This is kind of it. I think I already described how I make my hoods. The sleeves are something alike. All you have to do is to put a small ring of flat Greenstuff around the wrist where the sleeve will end (this is because it is easier to separate the end of a sleeve from hand when you finish) and then put GS here and there and make a sleeve. I do it in mo own way I think, making a quite big flat piece of GS and put it just when the sleeve touches the shirt, and then using my sculpting tool with flat end I (hmmm) redistribute (?) GS all over the place and I cut off the excess. I hope that makes sense… Well this is kind of it for today. Hopefully I will post pics of the rest of the crew and a finished base tomorrow! |

I just stumbled onto this thread. Top notch work, all the way around! I really like your creativity and use of materials from all kinds of models. It came together very nicely.
Kudos and keep up the fine work! Goomb |
