Green Stuff Frost/eskimo/naggaroth Goblins?

Whilst writing my army's backstory I was looking around in the O&G rulebook and found this snippet of information that gave me a few conversion ideas:

"...Since then, many survivors have escaped and taken up residence in the forests and mountains of that cold land. Goblins of this region, often called Frost Goblins, have tunnelled lairs into still-moving glacier..."

Interested, I tried googling for conversion of frost goblins, and I found someone's work on creating eskimo goblins:



What I want to know is how could I go about making these? would I cut the pointy hoods off night goblins and add in fur details with green stuff? I never used green stuff before, though. if you have any thoughts on how I could re-create these please tell me. thank you.

I'm no greenstuff or conversion expert but I'll offer my two cents.

It looks like they're Night Goblins (possibly from BFSP) with their pointy hat parts chopped off, then filed (or craft-knifed) smooth-ish to round off the top a little. I'd use the curve of the front of the hood above the forehead as a guide for cutting and shaping.

If it was me making the furry bits on the edges of the cloaks, I'd make small sausage shapes out of Green Stuff, press them against the cloak edges and cuffs, then rough them up with either a wire brush, toothbrush, or steel wool.

Make sure you post pics of your efforts, I'm quite keen to see how they turn out!

Sokk is right that you will need to make rolls/sausages of greenstuff first.
But making fur with a brush will probably not work. You will probably have to do something like this

I use a needle. Just stick it in upwards along the plane you're working on and drag it out almost directly away from the plane.

A universal greenstuff tool works very well when making fur but a bit of advice is needed.

After applying the greenstuff make sure it rests about 25-40 minutes before working with it.

Unless you are working with tons of miniatures at a time - too long and it gets stiff and hard to work with.

Oh yep, now I've thought about it, which is what I should've done before my last post, a wire brush would be the stoopid non-worky way.

Needles or a universal Green Stuff tool, brilliant! Now why didn't I think of that?!

Thank you for all your help, I think what I will do is get rid of the pointy hoods, file it down so it's smooth, make small sausage shapes, and knick in the fur details with one of those round dental picks. I'll make sure to post my attempts on my army blog. thanks again!

Have you create any eskimo goblin/orcs?
cause the project seems very nice, and im about to begin one like this
