Hey guys. If I give a wolfchariot a third wolf does it have to be mounted on a wider base? There's no rule stating it should go on anything other than a chariot base, but Grom is 75mm wide, Settra is 100mm wide etc. So, what to do here? And why?

That is a good question. Almost all of the Groms I have seen have 3 Cav bases. Once they redo him we will get to see what GW thinks of this. Until then stick with the 3 cav bases as that is what the model came with in previous editions. Just my

That's what I thought...GW needs such a question in the FAQ. If I make an epic Warboss-chariot I don't wanna have to rebase it next edition. Actually, depending on the base size I might model it completely differently. Thanks gents. ![]() Theo |

My guess is that because there are three wolves pulling Grom's chariot that it's 75mm (3 x 25mm bases wide) and Setra's has four horseys so it's 100mm (4 x 25mm bases wide). Normal chariot bases are 50mm wide? I assume that if you add another wolf or boar to your chariot, then it should be one cavalry base's width wider? It would be nice if GW made this sort of thing clear.... This post has been edited by Sokk_Likk on Aug 12 2012, 02:52 AM |

I'd have it on a regular chariot base.. there's nothing that says all beasts have to be side by side.
its only conjecture though... |

having it 3 bases wide just does not make sense (anymore).....as it is actually making the chariot worse (gain 1 attack, while getting up to 6 extra in return).

There's nothing in the rules saying you should get a wider base if you add a third wolf, so you can go with a regular chariot base. Grom and Settra do have wider bases, but their models were designed when widening chariot bases because of extra steeds was in the rules (so nowadays that's kinda bad argument).
