Hey everyone, i'm a new member here, but i have been following a few of the other army blogs on this site for quite some time. I finally decided to start my own in hopes that it will keep me motivated to complete my army, and also that i may get some helpful advice from some of the more seasoned hobbyists.

Currently my army consists of mostly savage orcs with a few gobbos and some black orcs, everything is finally put together and primed and i am just now starting to batch paint them.

I'm hoping to have pics up shortly, just as soon as i find out how to work this blasted camera, lol.

alrighty, iv got some orcs in the process of being painted, sadly i just found that my camera has no SD card and no computer link cord, so now i have to go pick those up, which should be fun, seeing as how any store that would have that stuff is 60+ miles away lol, though i should have at least WIP pics up in the next day or so, soon as i get back from my trip (uggg)

i also have some backstory and fanfic for this army that im hoping to use in a time of lull when things may be running a little slow on my end, id like comments on it at some point, seeing as how i havent written anything in a few years and may be a tad rusty

sadly no pictures till i get a new SD card for my camera sunday, but i guess until then i can post army info or something iunno, figure i outta do something so people dont get bored lol

Army List:

Makruz Madeye the half cursed- Savage Warboss (gear undecided)
Madeye's Boyz, led by Azgub (30 savage orc big uns with duel HW)
Madeye's Runnas, Led by Blutnug (10 savage orc boars with duel HW)
Krimson Killerz, led by Kraktoof (20 black orcs, name and color scheme taken from the O&G army book, cause its just way cool)
Iron Sickle Tribe, led by Gribbly (40 night gobbos in horde with spears, name and scheme again taken from book, i just like the colors too much lol)
Da Brass Ballz (fanatics, name from the fact they gonna have giant brass flails smile.gif )
Da Krimson Killerz lobba, with orc bully Weedy one leg(rock lobba)
Sickle Tribe Manglas, Bub and Gub(mangler squigs)
Zakruk Da Eadmelta (lvl 2 or 4 shaman that im gonna magnatize the finecast one to either be on foot or boar, should be cool if i can get it work hehe)

now that that's done, a little fluff

The Cursed Eye tribe of orcs are generally avoided by other orcs, as their somewhat overly savage nature and strange eye color tend to unerve other orcs, shunned and mostly unwanted, the cursed eyes have become a slack and lazy tribe, that was until the day Makruz was found, he was named the "Half Cursed" due to only having 1 yellow eye and the other being a normal red color, the shamans saw this and fortold that he would either bring greatness or doom upon the tribe, as soon as Makruz has become strong enough (he thought) to take control of the tribe, he battled the previous boss Grongin for leadership, during the duel Makruz suffered a fatal blow to the shoulder and many thought Grongin had won, that was until Makruz's one cursed eye began to glow with primal energies, and due to this new found power, Makruz was able to defeat Grongin simply by crushing his windpipe with his bare hand. Now that Makruz is in charge, the Cursed Eyes have begun to Waaaagh across the empire and are heading to the capital of Talabechland, with the help of the Krimson Killaz mercenary black orcs and the Iron Sickle Night Goblins.

i plan on writing some more fan fic, with the ending being decided by a huge battle between my brothers empire and my orcs, i hope this can hold you guys off till sunday when i can finally get some pics up smile.gif

Pictures a bit dark, but orcs are looking good so far. The resin base looks great.

Pictures are a touch dark, but the flesh looks good (It's amazing how much better savage orc models look when they aren't edge highlighted like the 'eavy metal ones).

Looking forward to seeing them done and based! smile.gif

i kinda like the edge highlighting, the only thing i think is that a little goes a long way and there is no reason to go overboard with it, its especially nice to emphasize facial features and stuff like that.

For facial features, chariots and other things that have sharp lines it's fine, but for muscle tone it looks wrong to me. Page 86 of the army book. The unit of savage orcs at the top look dreadful. Not very organic looking. On the same page, look at the savage orc archer in the bottom right. Much more realistic looking (in so far a bright green monster armed with a bow and covered in tattoos can be realistic). I was lucky I saw the savage orcs in the flesh. My first thought on seeing them (from the publicity shots) was 'YEEEURCH!'. Wrong sort of paint job can ruin a model.

the archer is what i was basing my opinion on, if you look closely you can see that the muscles have been highlighted but only slightly, only a few key points such as the face and smaller chest areas that you might miss if not highlighted just a little.

i do agree, the larger unit of savage orcs on the page went a bit overboard with it.

hehe, thanks, that really makes me wonder if perhaps i dont need to do the small highlighting, but you know what, i may as well try it on one, and if i dont like it, no big woop, there are 29 more models and no one is gonna notice smile.gif

(and by "a bit" i meant "an enormous" amount lol )
