so i was thinking of starting an army blog , and got all my models out and set them out on a battle mat
I was going to take a bunch of pics but the batteries in the camera were toast , so that will have to wait . I wanted to find out just what i had , I always seem to be working on something to do with warhammer weather it is 40 k or fantasy , and a new gaming group just started up in the area and they are playing mostly fantasy . This is great because i almost never get a chance to play with my fantasy orcs , and they are closer than my LGS , which mostly play 40k. when i got them all set up they covered most of the battle mat . 586 models in total , just over 7500 points in WYSIWYG with out adding magic items , or levels and counting heroes as heroes unless they were mounter on a lords mount or a unique character . if i added magic items and unit upgrades I could probably get it up to 8500 with no trouble . what i realized though was that with as many models as i have , i still need more . some units in the army book I am missing entirely , like the aracnorock , squig hoppers , gobo chariots , and other units , I have but they are too small , like my river troll , and squig herd . and boar boyz . about 2/3 of the army is painted , but none of the models are based . any way here is my model list , i will try to get some pics up soon . orc and goblin model list:586 models about 7500 pts Lords: Grom the Paunch x1 Azagh the slaughtrer x1 Orc warboss on wavryn x1 Heroes: NG shaemen x6 gobo shaemen x3 svg orc shaemen on boar x1 svg orc shaemen x1 BSB black orc x1 bsb orc x1 orc big boss on war boar x3 orc big boss on foot x1 gobo big boss on wolf x1 NG big boss on giant squig x1 Core : Gobo Wolf riders x18 ND spider riderx x20 Orc boyz +1 HW x89 sheild orcs x41 spear orcs x8 arrer boyz x29 gobos HW + sheild x74 gobos spear + sheild x39 NG archers x48 NG spear + sheild x92 Fanatics x10 nasty sculkers x 3 netters x 3 svg orcs +1 HW x29 Special : Black orcs x24 Boar boyz x6 Spear chuckas x2 boar charriots x 3 squig herd x 15 snotlings x 2 trolls x 3 Rare: Rock lobba x2 doom diver x1 river troll x1 giant x1 mangler squig x1 |

my goal is to get everything painted , and uniform . and eventualy to get one of every unit .
I have been experimenting with making scratch built squigs with limited success , i have found that tyranid parts work for some parts like legs . I have been using mighty putty as it is readily available and cheap . I did order some green stuff on ebay , and it should be in next week . I used the body parts of the old tyranid warriors and molded the putty arround it , then pressed the face into a mold i made . it sort of works but i am not happy with the results so far , but i am not willing to pay $5/ squig to buy them from GW . a small squig herd hoard would cost $200 , which is more than i am willing to pay . I am fairly happy with the paint job on the Giant , it looks better in person than in the pics but the skin tone came out really well , once i used devlin mud . same with war boss on wavryn he looks better in RL than in the pic . The giant is the old metal one , and smaller than the current plastic one but i like his scale better than the new one . |

That's indeed a lot of stuff! I hope you can get everything painted and coherent ^^ (it's my same goal
)The squigs can be made out of the plastic horrors. It's not terribly cheap, but it's cheaper than the original models for sure |
