so i was thinking of starting an army blog , and got all my models out and set them out on a battle mat smile.gif I was going to take a bunch of pics but the batteries in the camera were toast , so that will have to wait .
I wanted to find out just what i had , I always seem to be working on something to do with warhammer weather it is 40 k or fantasy , and a new gaming group just started up in the area and they are playing mostly fantasy . This is great because i almost never get a chance to play with my fantasy orcs , and they are closer than my LGS , which mostly play 40k.

when i got them all set up they covered most of the battle mat . 586 models in total , just over 7500 points in WYSIWYG with out adding magic items , or levels and counting heroes as heroes unless they were mounter on a lords mount or a unique character . if i added magic items and unit upgrades I could probably get it up to 8500 with no trouble .

what i realized though was that with as many models as i have , i still need more . some units in the army book I am missing entirely , like the aracnorock , squig hoppers , gobo chariots , and other units , I have but they are too small , like my river troll , and squig herd . and boar boyz .

about 2/3 of the army is painted , but none of the models are based .

any way here is my model list , i will try to get some pics up soon .

my goal is to get everything painted , and uniform . and eventualy to get one of every unit .

I have been experimenting with making scratch built squigs with limited success , i have found that tyranid parts work for some parts like legs . I have been using mighty putty as it is readily available and cheap . I did order some green stuff on ebay , and it should be in next week . I used the body parts of the old tyranid warriors and molded the putty arround it , then pressed the face into a mold i made . it sort of works but i am not happy with the results so far , but i am not willing to pay $5/ squig to buy them from GW . a small squig herd hoard would cost $200 , which is more than i am willing to pay .

I am fairly happy with the paint job on the Giant , it looks better in person than in the pics but the skin tone came out really well , once i used devlin mud . same with war boss on wavryn he looks better in RL than in the pic .
The giant is the old metal one , and smaller than the current plastic one but i like his scale better than the new one .

That's indeed a lot of stuff! I hope you can get everything painted and coherent ^^ (it's my same goal biggrin.gif)
The squigs can be made out of the plastic horrors. It's not terribly cheap, but it's cheaper than the original models for sure smile.gif
