It'd be 2.5 if there was an option for zero. But there's only 5 options so average is 3 (two options above and below). Sorry for the Nazi routine - was bugging me lol... |

As an aside... By my reckoning this is the first savage orc boss-character they have released in approximately 20 years. I don't even know when the last one would have been released, save the fact we have been waiting since pre-4th edition.

You are right about close to 20 years ago, but it was in the 4th edition Savage Orc range, 1993 to be exact. http://www.solegends.com/citcat9x4/c93574-02.htm Not really compatible with the later metals or the plastics though so we've been without Savage Orc Big Bosses since the release of the 200X metals. |

Ah well spotted.
I wonder if we will ever get a savage orc 'warboss' kit. |

In looking at another picture in WD, it looks the head of your typical SO only comes up to the bottom of the jaw of this new boss, so he should stick out in a ranked unit as he is substantially bigger than the common SOs all way around (height, muscles, etc.).

I voted 5! I think it's right and propa that he looks like a regular savage orc, except bigger. The pose and sense of movement is excellent -- totally belligerent and furious. Your basic bad-ass savage orc.

I voted for 5. I've been waiting for a Savage Orc Big Boss with a great weapon for long time, and now there's one and it's made of plastic.
The pose of the model is dynamic and captures the raging savage feeling very well in my opinion. When I get one of those I'll glue a battle standard on his back and it'll be good to go.- Cheers, Skarsnik. |

I actually quite like the model and If I ever get savage Orcs, he would probably be a good choice to bolster that unit. However I don't like that he only comes with a great weapon, I'd have preferred more options.
But still he gets a solid 4 from me. |

Iīm a little bit disapointed because it seems without a lot of greenstuff work you cant make him a two choppas carrying badass and the belly ... but thatīs a minor one you can easily remove. Besides that heīs looking awesome and I preordered that one. We will see what the warhammer community will make out of him.

It is actually quite simple to make him dual weapon, although it may not be the look you are after. The only thing required is cutting the axe handle between the two hands and remove the bottom half of the handle and drill out his left hand and add a second weapon. So the pose is totally unaltered just a weapon in each hand. This post has been edited by BorkBork on Jun 13 2012, 09:22 AM |

And this is exactly why i like that they don't do multi purpose kits this much! They could add dual arms of course, but otherwise if they really wanted it to look intended with both options, he would have to be posed differently. It just seams that multi purpose kit rarely is the best of two worlds, but rather the worst of two worlds. I prefer that they make 1 super sculpt, and then you then have to explain your opponent what gear he has (unless you wan't to convert him), rather than many of those characterless, strangely posed undynamic multi kits there is. Even when they get the kit right, it's still a bit annoying when you field the options at the same time... Ghorgon/cygor, Hurricanum/laser beam, etc. They just look the same with modifications... But the worst is when they use the same base model but for another kit, like the war alter, chimera/manticore etc... now that is just bad sport! /Rant over |

Multipart kits can be a the worst out of two worlds - agree. But with the right design it can be quite good. That multipart Warboss kit aint that bad, I dont really like it because the boar is so static but besides that itīs pretty good.

agreed. Bu compare it to Gorbad/Azhag/other single pose models, and the difference is obvious. It is split into standard sections: Arms, torso, legs and head. It makes it look pretty actionman-like to me. I much prefer that the make "fluent" models, where shoulders aren't included on the arms... |
