Hello!!

As mentioned, I'm living in Norway (the place that time forgot) and I'm wondering if anyone in Scnadinavia-shire knows of a decent(ish) alternative to the G.W undercoat,i.e, cheaper. I would prefer a black alternative if at all possible!!! not seen Plasti-coat anywhere around where I am, but any knowledge would be really appreciated as I'm running low!!

The sprays from these guys not only beat GW's prices, but are far, far superior. Their other stuff isn't too bad either ofcourse, hope it's helped.

Find a place that sells car paint. They should sell an Acrylic Primer. They should do black, grey and white. I use Halford in the UK, don't know if their is somewhere similar in Norway.

I use the spraycans from army painter, they are a little bit cheaper then GW but they are from the same quality.

Cheers,

Itīs expensive to get but if youīre willing to spend money for an airbrush you have your "cheap alternative". I spend ~1k bucks for the basic equipment, 750 for the compressor and 250 for the pistol and tubes. But now I just use GWs spray if my customers want it for whatever reason. So I still have 2 cans of the GW stuff but dont really use it.
Itīs all a question of how many models you have to undercoat. But for me it wasnt affordable anymore plus I like airbrushing so it was the way to go.

I do have an airbrush, but I have a load of mini's to paint. Army Painter I can't find in Norway, Sadly Norway doesn't have a big wargaming history. there's not many shops around that sell hobby stuff, and I can't order sprays to be sent here because of the risk of exploding during postage.

If you got an airbrush already then use it. smile.gif

In my blog you can see a lot of orcs and all of them are basecoated with my airbrush.
Plus my BO blocks got their basic armour colours done using an airbrush. It works like a charm.
