So I took the dive and decided on O&G. I won a lot of 85 orc boyz with 3 commands for pretty cheap, about 50 USD.

Then I went on a bidding spree, lost most, but managed to snag 10 wolf riders with spears (unpainted, and the gobbos aren't glued to the wolf) for 10 USD! As well as a boar chariot for 15, again partially assembled/unpainted.

Someone is selling off 10,000 points of O&G on Ebay, with huge discounts; most of the units are assembled, partially glued if they are mounted and/or primed in black.

I'm so excited! O&G was my first army back in 4th edition; the army holds my heart.

Can someone help me build a solid "core" of troops. One that I can basically build an army around. I don't have the book yet, going to pick it up from my LFGS tomorrow I think.

I'm not sure what point total to aim towards, what is the point value at which most games are played?

Sorry if this question is elementary but I haven't played WHFB in a looooong time.

It seems to vary according to where you play but most places have something between 2000 and 3000 as standard for "pick up" games. 2400, 2500 or 2600 seem to be quite common.

Personally I prefer 2000 as it forces people to make the hard choices in writing army lists.
