The Ice Crag Orcs, Azhag is complete

hi all, its been such a long time since ive posted a blog on here, mainly because ive been tinkering with other armies. However, ive realised that orcs is da best (ive always known really ), ive gotten rid of all my other armies and cut my orcs and goblins down aswell, i now have a 2000 point list, the idea is to paint this over the year (no batch painting, i hate batch painting its to boring, so doing it model by model) and once its done, i will add the models slowly based on what i like to expand the horde and add new tribes.

Im going for a blue scheme, my orcs will be from high up in the worlds edge mountains, the current model im painting is Azhag the slaughterer, but hes being used as a black orc warboss on wyvern, hope you like the pics, hes currently work in progress

great looking model!

I really love the color-scheme. The dark red fits nice with the blue.
The only thing that I can see is that the red on the scales looks very much like the red (rust?) on the metal.

Or is that just the picture?
(BTW, try taking pictures outside in the sunlight. The color will come over much better).

Azhags blue skin looks wicked, I'm not sure about the red scales on the Wyvren, they look a bit seperate from the rest of the Wyvren, maybe if the inside wing flap bits were red too it would tie in better. I think its because the red scales look the same red as the parts of the model which arent scales, like the helmet and Azhags details. Maybe the chunky scales would have tied in more if they were white like the wing flaps.

However overall this is a very cool model. Good work!

I also like the duck, cow and sheep in the background.

cb_rex: a few people on here have said the same about the scales aswell, i kept them red like skullmunchas helmet 1) to contrast with the blue 2) mainly to make him look armoured, i like the idea of an armoured looking wyvern but i may need ti rethink the colour, i will finish him as he is then take another look at them. the duck, cow and sheep appear to be azhags lunch

horray Azagh is complete, well, for now, i may change the colour of the scales on the back, but for now my armys centrepiece is finished, as im painting all my models individually, next will be a spider rider

Great model, I really like Azhags face and armour, the colour is great! I would say that the base is a little bland though!
