Hi all, just saw the new warpfire dragon from forgeworld and i was thinking with some scales and a nice paintjob plus my warboss on top he could be quite a decent wyvern?
Here's a link to the warpfire dragon on forgeworld http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/WARPFIRE_DRAGON.html any thoughts? |

That sure would make a good warboss mount.
However, its quite hard to judge the scale, and i dont know what model you intend to put on top, but imho it is a waste of the dragon to put the warboss kit ontop. |

It's a cool model, but the head is a bit too chaosy. Seeing as that model is mostly based on the DE plastic Black Dragon, that's an option to consider as well.

its a beautiful dragon. Just remember that wyverns dont have arms, so get ready for some sculpting work too

good point. completly forgot about the arms. the arms would through it off abit as well, from looking at it the wings might become too far back as well without the arms. |

to me it looks like a chaos dragon-spawn in stead of a real dragon.
In my book dragons tend to be noble creatures (at least in appearance). Also the arms would be loads of work as all muscles are sculpted to include them as well. A better option would be the banebeast wyvern. This is one sweet Wyvern model. And indeed, if you do opt for such a fine beast, please put something decent on top as well ![]() Grtz -EM- |

While the Banelegions Wyvern looks the hotness, I would absolutely not recommend it. It is absolutely MASSIVE. Check the scale shots. There is not a hope in hell of mounting that on anything close to 50mm. More like 100mm square will be needed.
I ended up grabbing the Azhag model for my wyvern rider, and I think he looks pretty sweet. This post has been edited by jaysta on May 2 2012, 10:10 PM |
