I really l don't want to upset anyone who wants to do a command model, but it's probably easiest for me to make a careful descion, the longer I leave it then the more difficult it would become.

As for command/skulka models, the following people have stepped forward.

Boss; Thorox or EntertainMe.

Standard; Goofycabal.

Musician; Kees (aka Ghenkadh) or Borzag.

Nasty Skulkas; Theorox and EntertainMe.

I know that Goofycabal and Borzag would be happy to forfeit their chance to win the unit to do command models, so I'd quite like these two doing Standard and Musician respectively. Sorry Kees, but I felt it was fairer to let Borzag have chance to make the musician this time, would you be up for doing a Nasty Skulka instead? If so then along with Theorox and EntertainMe could do the 3 Skulkas between them, (it is a max of 3 right? I haven't got the book to hand).

Then I had an idea of me secretly recruiting someone to do the Boss, ideally a Warhammer celebrity, but I don't know any, so maybe just someone on the forums I admire that I can coax into doing the boss.

If this all sounds reasonably fair, then we have the command sorted, if not then feel free to protest.

They can be tricky, its the shields. I'd suggest doing the same as last time and tell people not to stick them on the base, although that means more work for you.

Thanks for the info, it sounds like Goblins are going to be just as tricky as Orcs to rank up. wacko.gif

OK, if this is it then Theo and me will come to terms who will do the boss and who will do the skulka.

I'll post the decision in here if we come to an agreement (but I'm pretty sure that we'll work it out)

Did you not like the idea of me trying to secretly recruit someone? There can be up to 3 Skulkas.

When are these due? I'm gearing up for my next GT in on April 20th, but I can probably knock out a goblin after that.

In fact, I found an old, old metal goblin that I can use. I think he has a mowhawk. He would be a great addition to the unit as a rank and file.

The final deadline will probably be sometime in May.

I thought I'd read in your post that that slot was going to Kees?
So I'd just to wanted to save you some work.

It's your show after all, so you call the shots.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear, I think I got a bit text tongue tied tiring to write it all down so that it made sense. Basically if Kees is ok with doing a Skulka, then him, Theorox and yourself (EntertainMe) could all do a single Nasty Skulka model, as there can be a maximum of 3 in a unit I believe.

I like that idea; so you have the skulkers sorted now as thosew three can do those. Then you recruit soem one for the boss but how likely is it you will be able to recruit some one of renoun? Who do we (more specifically you) consider a celebrity enough for this job?

Dammit, my internal calculator must have been broken or something.

I thought that after I added this up there would be one person to many for this.

Dunno why that happened. Let's just say it was an interesting weekend this past one yarr.gif

I think it looks fine, cb.

The set-up is this, if I understand it right:

Boss: Someone secret.

Standard: Goofycabal

Musician: Borzag

Nasty Skulkers: Kees (aka Genkadh), Theo and EntertainMe

Common gobbos: The rest of us.

To be fair, I'm happy to forfeit my chance on winning the unit on account of me being the forum Admin, just so long as I get to do the Standard bearer anyway wink.gif

In terms of ranking them up they are a right pain. You need all the torsos in roughly the same spot on the base ie. fairly central. Then the shield hand must be far enough forward that the shield can sit square on the fist (ie facing forward). Third the shield hands must be either equal or further forward than the weapon hands.

I would contribute myself but I don't have spare gobbo minis at the moment. Besides I don't think my painting is worthy.

Thanks for the info on ranking up, it sounds like this unit is going to be just as tricky as the Orc unit last year. Maybe we should encourage shield conversions to smaller shields where possible if that woud help.

I'm just looking at the Goblin command group at the top of page 84 of the O+G Army Book, the Evil Eye tribe, they have small round shields that seem to make the common goblin models look really rather awesome. Does anyone know what these shields are from?

Not having a spare Gobbo is fair enough, although I bet you could pick some bits up really cheap off ebay. Also it's a project for everyone of all ability, there is no such thing as not being worthy all that is asked is for you to give it your best effort.

Let's not glue our gobboses to bases so Cb_rex can do that like last year. That seems like the best solution to me at least. smile.gif
