Crazy Community Unit Project 2

Hey, I would like to give this a try again, hopefully this time I can make it!

Great to have you onboard Wazoo. We've got 29 people on the list now, and seeing as Snikpik's model takes up 2 bases width if everyone comes through then we'll have a Goblin regiment at least 30 strong, which would be totally awesome.

Also although it takes up a lot of my time, I'm hoping to do a wall of faces soon. I just need a few more of you to post some work in progress pictures so that I can make a good block of faces with peoples regional flags on, (if everyone makes sure they have their region in their profile I can easily add them). Also if I get your flag wrong please don't take offence just let me know and I'll change it.

Just a random post here, encouraging people to take part in this project.

If you are reading this and have not yet signed up, we would be more than happy to have you onboard. The more the merrier, no matter what your painting skills are. If you are not registred on the forums but want to enter, please sign up and get involved, even if this is the only thing you'll do on here. Lurkers are as welcome as anyone else!

And for you who have already signed up, make sure to get done in time to ensure your model becomes a part of the unit. 29 people have entered, we want 29 finished entries! And there's always room for an extra gobbo, so everyone who can scrounge up a goblin should come and join in!

As for my progress, all I have left is to greenstuff a hood and some details. I think he's gonna look pretty cool.

I'd just like to second Theo's comments, both from a gaming and community perspective.

GAMING: Goblin units are BIG. So there is literally no such thing as too many participants.

COMMUNITY: We have the best one on the 'net from n00b to vet, each and every single person here is all about the fun and excitement of playing Orcs & Gobbos, so what better way to show that team spirit than with a unit that literally represents this entire board?

Is there any sort of time limit here, other than "as soon as we can get it"? Just trying to plan out my hobby time for the next while...

I had said May the 7th as the deadline, but I know its Adepticon in the US soon (not sure when?) which might make doing this project in time tricky, I could extend the deadline by a week nearer the time if need be. What do you think?

Oh, I should officially be in the list! I got a lot of my work done for Brawler Bash (April 20th) and will be able to crank one guy out! In fact, I probably could've cranked him out with my Wolf Riders that I was doing.

I'm going to use one of the old, old Citadel goblins. He's a bit on the small side, but I'll put him on a chest or rock or something. It's a guy with a mohawk, shield and weapon. I think he'll have attitude to spare! I gotta find him from where I was having him sit in paint thinner for a few months....

I've got my model built and primed, but alas no cable or card-reader right now. Expect pictures later today, though...

I did find my gobbo. He is a little guy. I will have to see if I can fit him in.....

Don't know if it will fit scale-wise, but you could always put something underneath him.

Wow, this thread has burst into life since I last looked. Great work unwanted your gobbo is looking really nice so far.

@Groznit Goregut; I think we can accept your little goblin he does look a little smaller that the GW ones and his head and feet look different but I'm sure you'll be able to make him look fine. His head is pretty cool actually, just his nose isn't very pointy like a goblins nose should be.

I started work on a shield last night, going to try and finish sculpting a foot icon on it tonight, hope to get some pictures up soon.

Ok here's my goblin so far...



I've built him from the spare big web ball carrying goblin from the Araknarok kit, along with night goblin bow, shield and quiver. I still have a bit more sculpting to do on him, I might take off his feather maybe give him a helmet or something. The shield is going on his back.
