Best Army Blog Award

Its been 6 months since we last had a best blog of the year award vote. I am proposing we have two a year instead. What do you all recon, is that a good idea or should we stick with just the one vote towards the end of the year?

i think we should stick at 1 per year.

Also i dont think we have seen enough new ones to pose a challenge to the ones running in the last comp

I agree with Bork. The same ones would get the votes this time as the last. No need to have a vote just to have one.

On the other hand, we could do something similar but different. I think I (and probably someone else as well) floated the idea back then to do a vote with different categories. Like the music and movie awards.

I have some ideas about the categories possible: Best [various single model, character, monster and so on], Best core unit, best special unit, best rare unit, best army, best army theme, best "realistic" (as in realistic in the warhammer universe) theme, best "unrealistic" (opposite of the last one),

And so on. Organizing and executing this can be a HUGE job though, and I do not know if we are a big enough society to merit all that self-glorification...

I like one per year as well. Best of the year is a much more prestigious title than best of the last six months. bi-yearly would still be good, just not as good as yearly IMO.

Well since I did the first event I am happy to continue running them if the moderators agree to that. As to 'how frequent' I am happy to go with the majority opinion.

Oh we would like you to carry on running them most defiently. I get enthusiastic about wanting to do stuff thats all and soem times I may need reigning in! I suspected that people would go with once a year but thought it worth asking anyway. By the way I like the idea of diferent catogories but how that would be executed would need working on.

Well I suggested categories the first time, but most people said they didn't like the idea. But if people wanted to try it in future then yeah its something that would be possible.

If you wanted more frequent awards, you could do Best XX based on threads in the Gallery. Would promote the Gallery at the same time.
