With my FLGS (which I just recently located) putting on a Blood in the Badlands Campaign, and my being new to Orcs and Goblins in 8th edition (and 8th edition in general), I figured it would be an entertaining exercise to do a continuing battle report of the campaign - strictly from the perspective of the Orcs and Goblins who have infested the center of the Badlands for the campaign.

A brief overview of our campaign: it is a nearly direct-from-book Blood in the Badlands campaign, so without modification except for allies. The GM decided that the numbers could be split in such a way that it was 1/2 Order, 1/2 Destruction. So, a lot of Chaos and Orcs. The player breakdown worked out as such:

12 Players
1 High Elf
3 Warriors of Chaos
2 Orcs and Goblins
1 Dwarf
1 Empire
2 Skaven
1 Lizardmen
1 No-show (undecided - likely Ogre Kingdoms)

The first turn won't have pictures, but I will endeavor to take more - I didn't expect to actually get a game in on the introductory day of the campaign.

For the first post, however: The forces of Warboss Snaptoof!

Here are the Warboss and two lieutenants for the campaign. Each army will be themed off of the generals in some fashion. These are all modeled off of the 'talking points' suggested when making characters.

Orc Warboss Braagor Snaptoof the Krushed

Warboss Snaptoof was once a notorious figure in the Badlands, primarily near Mount Bloodhorn where he was famed for chewing through solid ore to prove his toughness. Mount Bloodhorn is also where he amassed a massive Waaagh to wage war on the Border Princes, and the Empire itself. Yet it was not to be, as Warboss Snaptoof was challenged by a fellow Warboss, who would come to be known as Azhag, and, in the midst of a massive battle between the two hordes, the Warboss was kicked right in the dangly bits – or so the story goes. Warboss Snaptoof’s army broke and retreated, only for the vast majority of his Orcs, including all but one of his Black Orcs, to join the new Warboss’ frenzied charge into the Empire. The last remaining Black Orc, Gutrippa the Butcher, followed the Warboss out of the Badlands and, after several years of fighting, was allowed to carry the Banner of the Snaptoofs.

As a result of his loss, Warboss Snaptoof was given the title ‘The Krushed’ so that virtually no Orc would want to join his Waaagh!. He traveled to the edge of the Marshes of Madness and into the small forests of the Savage Orcs and Forest Goblin tribes, where he amassed a new, much more unstable force.

Warboss Snaptoof’s tactics now mostly revolve around pointing his Savage Orcs and goblins in the direction of the enemy – which, on the whole, isn’t much different than any other Orc and goblin force. He has come back to the Badlands to get a more fitting title, which means he needs to find the biggest battles around.

Lieutenant: Savage Orc Great Shaman Wot’Zapp

Wot'zapp is the Savage Orc Great Shaman that leads his Savage Orc Horde after the death of their previous Boss, who lost his life in a 'eadbutting competition with Warboss Snaptoof. Wot’Zapp was not actually a shaman for some time, but a Savage Orc Boss who captured a Goblin Shaman long ago and, in a fit of Orcish genius, tied the Goblin to his back (ensuring no stabbings would come his way while the unnamed Goblin got to feel bigger than all the others) to perform grand spells. Found out, he fled into the forests north of the Badlands and found himself amongst the Savage Orcs there. Performing their bizarre rituals and dances, Wot'Zapp eventually succumbed to the Great Green and began to lead the tribe's rituals.

Lieutenant: Forest Goblin Great Shaman Snotrub on Bonepulpa the Spider Queen

The Forest goblin Shaman Snotrub has been the leader of the Webstriderz for nearly two weeks. The Webstriderz are the Forest goblin war band that rears the many spiders of Bonepulpa, the Great Spider that holds dominion over miles of her own forests on the edge of the Misty Mountains. Snotrub saw Warboss Snaptoof’s likeness in a hallucinogenic vision that gave him reason to commit his Forest Goblins and supplicate Bonepulpa and her brood into marching to war alongside the Snaptoofs.
