Hi guys, here's something interesting I want to try out. It revolves around large amounts of fighty orcs to take the fight to the opponent and counter-charge to win combats.
Orc Warboss Basha's Axe of Stunty Smashin' Talisman of Preservation Enchanted shield Wyvern 375p Orc Shaman (Lvl1) Dispel scroll 90p 30 Orc Boyz, additional HW's, FC. 245p. 30 Savage Orcs, additional HW's, FC. 305p. 15 Boarboyz, spears, shields, Big'Uns, FC. 395p. 5 Savage Boarboyz, additional HW's. 100p. Boarchariot, extra crew. 90p. Total: 1600p. Standard deployment will be something like: S.BB's_S.Orcs_BC_Orcs_BB's_WB+W Then every unit will have support from another unit, and the right flank will form a sort of "hook". The trolls move 12" per round, the Boarboyz 14" and the Wyvern 20", so that flank will be used to (hopefully) encircle my opponent. The Trolls can deploy in "chariot formation" so they don't leave a gap in the battleline if I deploy the Boarboyz close to the infantry. With a lot of hardhitting units and no points spent on anything else I think this army has the potential to munch it's way through most enemy armies. I'll mostly be facing Ogres, VC, Skaven, Savage Orcs and maybe High/Dark elves. So what do you think of the overall list and tactics? ![]() Theo This post has been edited by theorox on Dec 28 2011, 06:52 PM |

the warboss is on the wyvern right?
looks like a cool tactic tho, i havnt tried any hook style games yet so i may use a similar list to this. tho id be tempted to squeeze a shaman in there. |

Yeah, forgot to type in the Wyvern. xD
In a way I'd like a shaman, but that would kinda change the fighty theme and I'm not sure what to drop to squeeze him in. And the chance to roll good spells would be kinda low with a lvl1 or 2. ![]() Theo |

No shammy list hum, hum, I´d like to run one as well but I´m scared by 8th magic too much.
But your list looks like it can really crush some armies. I might remove the savage BBs and add 5 regular BBs. Split them in 2x10 and be happy with it. |

Huh, very interesting lst. By focusing on one aspect of the army you've been able to cram in a LOT of hitty stuff. I'd love to hear how this list plays if you try it.

The only BSB model I have right now is a NG one.
And I want to be winning combats! The 18" LD bubble of the general will help the trolls and...everyone else a lot too.And the goal is to have killed or tied up all enemy wizards that scare me in turn 2. 2 units of 10 Boarboyz would be cool but this big train should be able to disrupt enemies I hope. The pointlevel is kinda limiting my options, but just squeezing a Wyvern into this small a game will hopefully catch my enemies off guard. I hope to try it out before the new year, but don't know if the people I play with will have vacation from their jobs then. (They're all quite a few years older than me, the guy whose house we play in might be working.) Theo |

Hey Theo! Nice list there, but I would be really afraid of magic. Try to include at least one L2 shaman with dispell scroll
. Also a BSB would be great. |

Yeahr it would, but what to drop to make room for that? I could drop the Rivertrolls and replace with a lvl1 Orc shaman with a Dispel Scroll, they're the same points...and makes the army all orcs.
![]() Think I'll do that, thanks for the suggestion. Will also try to make a bigger version of this list, I think. Should reach 2400 quite easily. (I have too much stuff but always want to expand my army...gotta start painting seriously...) *Edit* So I edited that into the list. Any other suggestions?
