Here is a little tutorial on how to paint orc skin like I usually do it - enjoy. smile.gif

My wet palette and the colours

Step I

Black undercoat followed by orchide shade

Step II
Drybrush knarloc green all over the skin followed by thraka green (ink)

Step III

Drybrush gretchin green over the the higher parts. I tend to not be that precise with it because it doesnt matter that much when you work with wet palette. The colours are not that covering.

Step IV

wash the whole skine with thraka green (ink)

Step V

repeat step III and IV until you think the skin looks good.
After all of that I tend to use a fine detail brush and work out the face and some details here and there.

Thanks again for this tutorial. I've been fiddling with so many skintones lately that I'm unsure what I'll finally settle on but your blog makes a great case for this one!

Thanks and yes working without wet palette is an absolute no go for me. No more dry paint during my sessions and you can cover the palette and put in the fridge to have the paint fluid for the next day.
Besides that, the colours are watered down by the palette and you can easy mix them or just water them down more.
My palette is and IPod case I robbed from my little bro yarr.gif
