Woo-hoo, intro painting/modeling army log post!
I've been on Da Warpath for a month or so, and having found my way around a bit, figured it was finally time to start seriously tracking the growth of my army (that, and I went over to a friend's place where they let me borrow their camera. Gettin one of dem would really make this simpler). Anywho, little bit about me and the army. Night Goblins were my introduction to Warhammer Fantasy, being my second army behind Chaos Marines in 40K. I was completely taken by the silliness and randomness of the little loons, and had great fun with them. I wanted to go all gobo, but eventually caved in to a more balanced force and added orcs. I never really liked the models, and liked the all gobbo fluff better, so wasn't entirely satisfied with it. Fast forward about 7 years, and some new core rules and a fresh book and suddenly all goblin is pretty viable. Much rejoicing! I still have the old mismash of models that formed the thing resembling an army from the days of yore (turns out that 15 year olds don't have the greatest grasp of tactical army composition) sitting in my parent's basement a five hour drive away. Not sure what'll happen to them. Will probably sell off the orcs (except the awesome conversion based on Grimgor) and try to incorporate the old stuff into the new (not sure about the old rank n file night gobbos though...they're big to the point of silly, and hard to rank up). I had the goblin half of the BfSP set lying around, and decided to redo the goblins to my current standards of conversion-crazy fun. I love the game, but I enjoy the modeling more, and so far I'm having an absolute BLAST with these goblins! Speaking of which....theme behind this army is a tribe of Night Goblins living in the caves at the foothills of World's Edge mountains. I've got some cool rocky pine forest type terrain that sort of inspired it. Common goblins will be included in the army, as they are simply Night Gobbos who have consumed particular varieties of mushrooms that dull the senses (Less afraid and slower = +1 Ld and -1 Init. Basically, mildly stoned goblins). Makes some sense, and allows me a wider variety while sticking with my theme. Side note: It's taken me almost a full year to get my last project (Tzeentchian Daemons; can be found here if anyone is interested) up to 2K though, so don't expect any great feats of getting things done in a timely manner. I do very much enjoy C&C on my work though, so let me know if you love it/hate it/think I'm loony/just want me to post more pics dagnabbit! Well, now that that's out of the way...PICTURES! I apologize, there are a LOT for this first batch. I've been busy. Goblin Big Boss on Giant Spider ![]() ![]() ![]() Squig Hoppers (will either go in Squig Herd, or be rebased and used as Fanatics) ![]() ![]() Everything else is WiP. Some stuff is ready to be painted, most hasn't even gotten greenstuff yet. Warboss ![]() Shaman 1 ![]() Shaman 2 ![]() Big Boss ![]() Troll ![]() Wolf Rider ![]() Wolf Chariot 1 ![]() Wolf Chariot 2 ![]() Pump Wagon ![]() Night Gobbo Command Group ![]() Common Goblin ![]() Common Goblin Standard ![]() Spear Chukka 1 (who says Lootas only exist in 40K?) ![]() Spear Chukka 2 (the Hellblasta Volley Chukka) ![]() Speak Chukka 3 ![]() Squig Cannon (I always thought the Doom Diver fluff was a little too silly, and the damage out put of a falling Snotling never quite equaled S5 no armor save to me. But an angry Squig falling out of the sky? That'd ruin your day for sure!) ![]() Warmachine Crew (the Gnoblar-based crew will be for Spear Chukkas, the Squig Cannon will have NG-based crew) ![]() And I have an awesome unit filler in progress, but can't post it because it's going to be entered in the competition. So it'll be super-secret and wotnot! Cheers, Noisy |

Thanks everybody!
@meyer: I actually don't know where the Shaman's skull-hat came from, as I got it as part of a big pile of assorted skulls from someone over on the Daemonic Legion. If I had to guess I'd say probably something from the Beastmen range? @Gobsmacka: It might be awhile for the painting, as I've just lent all of my paints to my brother for a month or two. @morten: Steal away! |

Some damn good conversions the Noisy, I am impressed. I had the same idea for the BfSP dwarf cannon, but you have taken that a good few steps further! Great work mate, keep it up!

@Wazoo: The chariot jaws are from the Ogres Thundertusk/Stonehorn kit. I picked them up on eBay from Hoard o' Bits. That place is a goldmine if you're patient and bid carefully.

Kind of an update. Nothing new, but I just picked up all my old O&G stuff from my parents' basement over the holiday, and figured that I'd post pics. Not sure how much of this is going to get redone, how much is going to be kept, and how much is going to be sold off. I really don't like the comparison between the new and old NG's, and I may or may not decide to keep Orcs in the army at all. I
my Giant though! These models were mostly built about 8 years ago, when I was 14! Geeze.Whole Army Shot ![]() A baby NG block ![]() A more reasonable NG block (with a HORRIBLE freehand on the banner) ![]() Some Fanatics ![]() Squig Hoppers ![]() Troll 1 ![]() Troll 2 ![]() Rock Lobba ![]() Speak Chukka 1 ![]() Spear Chukka 2 ![]() Some Boyz (with a Standard that sustained some "battle-damage". Time for Super-glue) ![]() Savages (made with about 50-50 Savage and normal orcs) ![]() Giant ![]() The Shamans ![]() NG Big Boss (complete with cartoon-sized axe and dwarf-head shield) ![]() Blorc BSB ![]() Blorc Warboss ![]() And now for something that is new-ish...the SQUIGGOTH! Anyone remember this silly thing?. Well I ended up with a toy of it, and at one point decided that it would make a good Tyranid gribbly (back when the creature-builder rules existed in White Dwarf), so I pulled off it's antennea and legs. Turns out I never made anything with it, but I realized that it is about the size of an A-Rock, and looks kinda like a weird Squig. It'll be awesome! ![]() And for size comparison |

Those are some top class high quality awesome conversions! Possibly the best NG Warboss I've ever seen.
Will have to steal some ideas. Great looted Warmachines, the haphazard random bits really work. Solid paintjobs as well, this is a great army wich I want to see more of! ![]() Theo |
