I don't see why I should put a Black orc warboss into a Black orc unit since the unit will keep the Immune to Psychology anyway and the unit is not subject to animosity...
I see BO Warboss in some army lists... Did I miss something? |

Fluffy I suppose. Could be used if you want your large BO to be in the centre of your line for Ld9 bubble (and he gets his hand dirty). But I suppose BO are best on the flanks or in smaller units with flaming banner going monster hunting.
There is no need for them to have excess Ld though through them being ITP and you dont bank on then losing combat. If you lose massively ld9 or ld8 isnt going to matter much eh. |

You put your BO unit on the flank it will be chaffed moved all over the place so it can't get into combat quick enough. Wiley opponents will do this to you - as I have found out. Three HE eagles sacrificed = 3 turns that I couldn't get my BO unit into combat from the flanks. Go up the middle with them and smash 'em to bitz!

They're better in an Orc unit, BO Warbosses are good for superior WS, Armour, Quell Animosity and Armed to Da Teeth. Why not make use of them all, or at least as many as possible?

BO bosses - as mentioned - for the fluff and to make the BO mob more killy.
From a pure tournament/efficient pov a BO boss is better in an ork mob but IŽd like to have a BO boss in my BO mob instead of an ork boss. |

If you are looking at older lists, as in ones written for the previous book, the BO boss was a better deal all round so nearly everyone used him. Nowadays you don't really need him (except for fluff reasons). This post has been edited by Craze_b0i on Nov 7 2011, 12:12 PM |

I'd say fluff, also a unit of blorcs is more likely to get across the board (itp and no animosity) so your killy fella is going to get in and beat stuff up much quicker!

I don't normally bother with a BO character in my unit of Blocs, they really don't need the extra help ... I have put a regular Orc in there as a BSB .. but that always felt funny (why would htey let some puny regular orc, no matter how tough he though he was, sit with them).
What I have started doing is giving my Blorcs the magic banner of +1 leadership (but can't use the general's) and putting them on a flank outside the leadership bubble. Leadership 9 on there own is great, and if they can get just in the BSB bubble great, but no worries if not. They are pretty independant out there and can usually handle themselves. Krys |
