As part of our Mordheim/Warhammer Storm of Magic campaign (Sartosa 5: Scourge of the Storm) we are having a few themed weeks - one of them is Daemon Week, in which lesser daemons will randomly materialise during a Mordheim game and start attacking the nearest warband.

Nice looking daemons! Did you paint by layering for both of those?

Thanks biggrin.gif

A mix of layering and washing. The Daemonette's skin was base-coated white first, washed with Leviathan Purple then layered with a mix of white and Leviathan Purple, with progressively more white added.

The Horror was base-coated with a mix of Mechrite Red and white, layered with the same mix with progressively more white added. Finally I glazed it with watered-down Warlock Purple.

It's Daemon Week this week!!
Here's a link to the campaign thread.

QUOTE ("WarbossKurgan")
Daemon Week 5th September to 11th September.

The high levels of emotion caused by fights, the use of powerful magic, the shear hatred that erupts during a warbands clash has always attracted the attention of daemons. But during a Storm of Magic they can find their way to the material realm much more easily: when there is low "Gellermetric Pressure" the barrier between the physical world and the Realm of Chaos becomes thinner.

At the end of each game turn roll a D6 and add the following modifiers. If the total is 6 or more a lesser daemon claws its way to the battlefield (choose either a Plague Bearer, Daemonette, Bloodletter or Horror from the Bestiary in Border Town Burning).

+ Turn number (yes, a daemon will automatically appear at the end of game turn 5)
+1 if there are ongoing fights when rolling
+1 if a spell has been successfully cast during the game turn

Fighty daemons (Plague Bearers, Demonettes, Bloodletters) will appear in the middle of the table and will move towards/charge the nearest model of either side.
Shooty daemons (Horrors) will appear 8" from a neutral table edge and will shoot following the normal rules for picking target. They will move towards a possible target if out of range, or away from them if they could be charged in the following turn.

A hero or henchman who banishes a daemon will earn 5 experience points.

There was a real pirate named Black Bart - Black Rat? Or Black B-rat? Or instead of Long John Silver, Long Brown Whisker? Instead of Redbeard, Ratbeard? And the ship could be called the Skull and Rat bones! biggrin.gif

The bandage knot is painted as the shoulders fur...

Looking at it now I can't see how I missed that!

This week I bought a Daemon Prince kit on impulse, with the idea of making a Djinn for the Chimeras' Warlock to bind into their service (i.e for use in Storm of Magic games as part of a Daemonic Pact).

In making it I kind of drifted off the Arabyan theme into the more general pirate theme and gave the Daemon a fish head, making him a Sea Daemon, rather than a Djinn!
