Hey guys!

I've been playing Goblins now for about a year and since 8th edition I've done surprisingly well with them in two tournaments here in Sweden. Never won or so but I've done all right. Won 4 out of 5 games at a team tournament (then our skaven team member lost all of his horribly and we placed second last in the tournament) but I'm happy to say it wasn't on my behalf that we lost =)
Then in a singles tournament in january I actually "cheated" on my goblins and brought an orc on wyvern (goblin model though, just played him as an orc). I also brought 2 giants. I placed 9 out of 20 which was okay as I did get a prize for the "friendliest/nicest list" =)

Now at Easter I'll be taking 2k of my Goblins to another tournament and of course I want it to be completely finished by then! This will be my first tournament with the new army book (which I'm completely in love with btw) so it'll be great fun!

My goblins have been (less than) table top style for a long time, I was in a rush before a team tournament in September and just painted things 3-colours on different places just to make the units look like they were painted.

The entire army is yellow and I do prefer to play Night Goblins and not regular common ones, except the warboss, I need that Ld8! The only model which is 100% finished is my Night Goblin Great Shaman, and even he doesn't have a base yet. The entire army is based on rocks instead of just grey sand so it does take bit of time making all the bases, I still have to make another round of them for my second Squig Horde.

I use Army Painters Strong Tone Quickshade (dip) for this army, it works wonders. I'm not looking to get best painted but the army IMO will look great once it get's dipped and then a spray of anti-shine.

I can't just ramble on like this without giving you at least one pic, here's the finished great shaman, he still needs an anti-shine spray but I'll do the entire army when it's all done:

I'm currently working on the Warboss and hopefully have him done by tonight =)

Cheerio!

Thanks guys!

It's kinda nice to have a blog I just realised, that way I need to keep my painting going!

Goblin Warboss is done, I'll have time to finish the Night Goblin Warboss as well and then dip them both before going to bed =)

Lovely yellow! A fine example of what dipping can do, and normally, I don't like dipping, very nicely done sir!

Cheers Jellywarrior!

The yellow does make a very nice conrast to the rock bases I use.

Both Warbosses are done and were just dipped so 'll try to get some pics of them tomorrow, and the shaman as well again but on his new base this time =)

People comment that I use bright colours on my army, yours are even brighter, but I like it a lot. Inidently I dont agree that my army is that bright.

Cheers Snikpik! I've had a look at your army as well and I did like it a lot! When I decided on dipping my army I looked through to see if I found an army that was dipped and I think yours was the only one. But hey, now we're two wink.gif

Night Goblin Great Shaman, Goblin Warboss and Night Goblin Warboss. Bases need a little more work but other than that they're done =)

I will bring my massive camera home from work some day and photograph everything "studio-style" when it's done, until then, these crappy phone-photos is all you get wink.gif

Wyvern WIP, the rider needs some more painting and the "leash" will also be made so it goes around the wyverns left horn.

The coming Mangler Squig and in the middle my tiny little Battle Standard =)

Looking good! Are these after the anti-shine or is that the last step for them? That is one huge Squig, where did you get him from??

Thanks!

Nothing has been sprayed with anti-shine yet , I'll probably spray it all at the same time when it's all done.

The squig is from Forgeworld, it's from 2001 I think. Got mine on ebay, there's one there currently as well, it's about £60-80 somewhere. I cut his base off though and put a needle through the new round resin base that I bought originally for 40k dreadnoughts but hey, mangler squigs are cooler! Then drilled a hole in the squig so the model is held firmly in place by the needle. His foot will also be touching the base so extra support from there as well.

Here's what's to be painted within the next week or so:

A unit filler for the Night Gobbos! Here you can easily see the difference between not dipped and dipped. The netter isn't glued on nor finished but just looking at the yellow you get the idea. The large rock needs a little more work, especially the little shrooms on and under the rock =)

Wow nice colour scheme. Look forward to see the rest. smile.gif

I recognise the old shaman-wyvern there, what mini is that one you used for the rider?

Those are good colours indeed. I'm personally not a fan of dipping but you've done it well.

Are you going to add anything else to the bases? I think another colour on them would make them more interesting. The shrooms on the filler are good but I suspect you don't have hundreds of them. Maybe some kind of moss or lichen?

Cheers guys!

The rider on the Wyvern is a gamezone "wolf rider hero" that I got to be a suicide wolf hero in 7th edition. Now he's an "orc", really got promoted smile.gif

I've been thinking the same thing Anton, I was considering snow actually, my new gaming table will be black/grey and lots of rocky terrain (goblins vs dwarf style) so snow might do the trick. What do you think?

Nearly finished the BSB yesterday so will probably gave pics of him up tomorrow or today even.
