Well, I've finaly started.

This year I am going to revisit my OnG army.
Although I don't have much time at the moment I'm going to try and do something regularly.

First up is the rock Lobba.
I've got no before pics as I bought it painted and well.. it looked like it was done by a five year old.

I'm planning to take some more pics of the crew and of the black orcs Ive been working on. But my camera decided it was enough and promptly ran out of battery power.

So more to come soon. But for now these'll have to do

Any comments welcome

Got some life back in the camera, so here are the rest of the pics.

The crew:

And up close and personal:

And as said, I'm also revisiting my Black Orcs.
These are mostly done except for the bases. Probabably going to do some more weathering on the armour. Mostly consisting of black wash or similar.

And this is a newer lastic one. Still need to do weathering on the armour.

Any comments on the black Orcs are much appreciated as I still need to do some work on it any tips and hints are welcome.
Btw, skin and any leather straps remain untouched, but I'm probably going to do sometghing there also.

The black orcs are looking great, I would do something more with the yellow cause it looks a little plain in my oppinion.

Good inspiration for my own black orcs.
Liking the yellow. Reminds me of the old Bad Moon paintscheme, and who would have more teef to afford all that heavy armour than Bad Moons!

A simple dirty wash over the yellow is all it really needs, just looks a bit clean for orcs. Nothing to obscure the yellow, it should be bright, just dirtier... (did that even make sense?)

Rock lobba looks nice and ramshackle. Keep going with the revisit.

I was thinking something similar.

I've skipped a few steps in highlighting the yellow so it looks to clean now.
So time to weather these and not make the same mistake in the future biggrin.gif

Thanks everyone

Nice! I love your rock lobber, especially the crew; their skin is brilliant. Normally I dislike streaked skin but yours is just the right mixture between faded and stark...

Your black orcs are cool too, I really like the yellow, how did you do it? In regards to tips I would like to see more contrast in the skin, i.e that there was deeper shading and more pronounced highlights....

Thanks for the comments.

Yellow is done in the folloowing matter:

- Bestial Brown
- Bubonic Brown
- Golden Yellow

But I need to get a mix of bestial and bubonic in as a second highlight.
This makes them look a bit dirtier and since I had to apply the bubonic brown in two layers this doesn't take more time than this.

I onw need to do some washing to make it dirtier.
Probably heavily thinned down bestial brown and a black wash round the rivets and other details.

Nice! I like your dirty skin tone it really suits the grubby little Goblins. I also like the colour yellow you've achieved on the Black Orcs but feel it needs a little extra, maybe some rust and/or some paint chips. Some sharper highlights on the edges of brown material might also help the Goblins "pop" a bit more. Keep up the good work!

Small update for the Blorcs.

Three of them are near finished. Just need to add some static grass.

First of all what they looked like before: (or at least two of the lot, don't know if these are the exact same models, but since all were painted the same it doesn't really matter)

And now how they've become:

Loving the rock lobber. biggrin.gif

Nice blorcs as well, very bold choice of color. On the downside though I would say the yellow looks too clean for my taste. Is there some way you might make it look more worn and weathered like the rest of the armour? Just a suggestion. Otherwide keep up the good work. smile.gif

Small update. Didn't have much time for painting. I've done some work on a few new black Orcs. Just the metal is done at the moment, but a pic anyway:

Also, I've picked up some models on ebay.
This is the lot:

Models in the brown box are actually the 6th edition starter set. (minus a few things).
So that's quite a few orcs for not much money (Yay!).
Unfortunately they are all pretty much the same model. So another Yay! is in order. Mostly because this gives me the chance to convert them into different poses and add other stuff.

I did a few this afternoon and they are ready for green stuffing.

First are a few of the normal Orcs just to get in the mood:l

This is the guy with the two weapons in the air (which is the dumbest pose ever!)
I cut of the left arm and repositioned it downwards. Pretty straightforward but it gives a very different model:
user posted image

Second is a model that had one sword in the air and another one sideways.
Again changed the pose into something more looking like he's trying to strike.
(not totally hapy with this but I'm hoping I can cover some of it up with some green stuff. And if it's still rubish I hacve 60 more where he came from)
user posted image

The last one is one of the archers. As everyone knows Orc archers are about as usefull as a chocolate hammer I decided to convert them to normal Orcs.
Their pose is pretty much something you can't change much. But I have at last found some way I could use this pose to my advantage.
By chopping of his entire richt arm, half of his left arm and adding the ones from the normal Orc regiment I think it truned out pretty good.
user posted image

After this they get some minor green stuff. Just something to distinguish them a bit more (adding some chainmail and such)

Anyway, let me know what you think.
(And yes I've seen the bit of extra plastic on the last Orc. I'll remove it before GS)
