Wow nice conversion. I would definately remove that sprue though, otherwise he will look like a nob-head.

Cheers, guys. Here's how he stands at the moment - I've swapped the body in the first photos with another Nob body that has more armour (I think it was the one that came free on the front of White Dwarf when the most recent 40k box was released):



I think the extra armour plates make him look a lot better. He's also been cleaned up and glued together. Now to paint him!

So I've finally reached the end of the long-running task that's been dominating my painting table since the end of last year (!?): I've got the unit of 40 Big Uns finished...



Looking forward to trying these out on the table soon.

Yara, I'm not sure if I asked this before or not, but I noticed that you converted your 6th Ed starter Empire guys to have halberds. I was thinking of doing the same (whenever I actually got around to dealing with them....). Was it hard? Any advice? Yours look really good.

Also, I was wanting to use the BO dragging the human, but I only have the metal ones with 2 hand weapons. I just used some credit with a bitz seller and ordered 2 of the plastic BO to try to duplicate your efforts. I think it looks freaking brilliant.

It wasn't hard at all. The tricky parts are to make sure you cut the end of the spear square when you chop the tip off, and then that you hold the halberd blade in place until the glue is completely set. Otherwise the end can look wonky.

Thanks for the info on the halberdiers! I have been meaning to convert them for a couple years. I'll get around to actually doing more with them one day....

Well, I did get a single plastic black orc and borrowed some arms that would fit. So, I went ahead and got all that done tonight as I was pretty excited. I sacrificed a Free Company guy for the effort. I had to change the right arm. I almost used an arm with a pistol and a musician arm (with horn). I went with one arm with nothing, though. I did this all tonight:

I don't think I recognise the head on your Black Orc, though....is it from the 40K Nob box?
