Painting update:

I've got my chariot finished now (the dip is drying at home right now). I hope I can get it on the base and mount the crew tonight (all the rest is ready to go), but it might not happen until tomorrow.

I also have two trolls that haven't been photographed yet.

I think I might actually return to NGs for a bit and get the rest of the short bow unit finished before going back to Orcs.

I like it, very 'bad santa' and the dark chariot contrasts very well with the snow.

The ony thing I'm not sure about is the lack of snow behind the boars, as it looks a bit unrealistic (they're animals not snowploughs) but that's a pretty minor quibble.

More importantly shouldn't the boars have some kind of comedy reindeer ears to fit the theme?

I was thinking of it in a "pounding the ground trying to move the damn chariot through soft earth" sort of thing. Only without so much effort on the mud. Hmmm, maybe I can use my snow recipe with some brown paint and make mud...

I was going to do fake antlers, but then I put real ones on the squigs and decided to leave it out.

In classic "abandon all plans and follow your instincts" style, I am building 3 wolf chariots out of toys and plastic these days.

Scratch that, it's 5 wolf chariots. I've got one completely built (except for crew) and a good start on the other 4.

I'm also starting on 4 more NG characters to ride my remaining 4 already painted GC Squigs. I've got 2 of them close to finished, and ideas for the other 2.

Been a slow week so far. Hopefully I'll get some stuff done on Thursday.

Another slow week - work is kicking my ass right now. Should slow down a bit after next week.

Been over a month. I haven't been hobby-less, I've been putting together about 2500 points of Warriors of Chaos. I've got everything for that army assembled, based, and primed, but not much of it is painted. One thing worth putting up here though is the Giant.

I went very Chaos with this Giant. I chopped the bottom jaw off the Chaos Giant head, and used a spare lower jaw from a mate's Stonehorn kit. I highly recommend this to anyone, since it fits like a dream with only the tiniest gap-filling with greenstuff.











I also put together a scratch-built Chaos Warshrine, from some bits from a boardgame I won at a convention a decade ago and some pieces from the bargain bin at the model railroad shop (American Civil War artillery cart) and Halloween decorations.

Damn, that warshrine is tits!!! Very cool.

Awesome giant too, man. Love that jaw swap. Great job.

I actually think this giant is the best piece you posted in the blog, for both clean conversion and nice painting
