Awesome work! I'm really liking the rock goblins. The Spider Rider's are great as well. The red rider gives them an almost frightening look. I'll keep my eye's peeled for more of your updates. smile.gif

Hi BloodForgedOrcs

Awesome looking spiders there mate. Great job. I really like the way their rear ends are done. Keep up the good work. I cant wait to see your next project.

Does your camera have a manual mode? If it does you can get a better "Depth of Field" which means more of the picture in focus by setting the apature number to its highest setting (Usually F8.0 on compact Digi's). You'll also have to lengthen the shutter time to get the exposure right and will need to use a tripod or something stable if you aren't already. Setting a timer on the shot is worth it too so that you can press the shutter button and get away from the camera before the shot is taken.

Cheers

I find even with a not so great camera that the right lighting can do wonders. But don't ask me how to get the proper lighting because I'm finding even that to be a crap-shoot!

Regardless, your spiders looks mighty impressive. smile.gif

Well they're certainly pretty, but pink alone don't make them slaaneshi. Where's the excess, the debauchery? I see both good painting and subtle conversion, I'm sure you could come up with something imaginative.

hey Reiks, you are right, they're should be a lot more 'prettiness' about them as it were, but i wanted to mark them as followers of slanesh while keeping to they're brutal and savage orcy ways. While reading slanesh in 40K, it states that slanesh followers tend to where fur. I used green stuff to put fur collars on them but i didn't want to much on them overall that they would look more 'dandy' the savage

Kinda weird seeing this skin color on orcs, but nicely done. I look forward to updates.

I like a lot your army shot! It's really huge! Mine is big almost as yours, but you have really a lot of models smile.gif

I appreciate the slaneeshi skintone, and also the gold, shining as slaanesh gold and at the same time dirty as an orc smile.gif

thanks Thitanium Prince. i used a final wash of leviathan purple for the gold in the hope that it would give it an aged and dirty orcy look so im glad to see that this can be seen. not too much left to go and they will be finished

nice, the brass/bronze really goes well with the pink.

and somehow i think pink orcs look more brutal then green ones.

That's awsome skin work man.

Do you mind doing a step by step guide on the green?

Of particular interest is your brush strokes and colour mixes you used.

hey enrgie, no problem

the first layer was pure liche purple. this was put on quite roughly, as long as all skin areas are covered.

next step nwas to layer on a 50/50 mix of liche purple and warlock purple, leaving previous layer in the recesses.

next, pure warlock purple was layered on leaving the recesses and only highlighting the lips

next a wash of leviathan purple was used all over the skin.

a 50/50 mix of wasrlock purple and tentacle pink was highlighted onto the skin but leaving the lips.

finally, a highlight to the most raised areas was given of pure tentacle pink

hope that helps you enrgie. if anyone wants me to give a step-by-step to any of the other models ive done feel free ask will be more than happy to help
