This weblog will trace the building of my Orcs led by Warlord Zugribar. A big part of it comprise mainly units that will take part in our club challenge - a tale of 6 gamers. Each month we have to complete 500 points of army, all painted including based. It starts this August and will run until we all have 2500 of points.
As part of this challenge I have committed 500 points of Orcs. It will be the start of an interesting adventure. Some will already have seen my warlord (link below) who is mounted on an Ironback boar. He will proxy in for a standard boar at 500 though Pictures will be coming. Do bear with me. The Orcs all glued up and ready for wolf pelts on their backs – this I will be sculpting in using Green Stuff. I have attached more armoured bits especially those from the Black Orc kit spares. These Orc boyz will eventually be part of the bigger force (at 2500) and will accompany the Warlord. They have been designed to be bigger and badder – I plan to use them as Orc Big Uns. I have seen from another thread someone using 40k Orcs for their Big Uns. Anyone has suggestions to make these boys bigger and badder? I have limited sculpting skills though. |

Here is the next unit all glued up - I just love these models! Could do with more poses though so I have actually stuck some on the 40K flying stands to make them go BOOOOOOIIIING. Once they are prepared for the black undercoat, they will all be done simultaneously. The fun then begins! Any other suggestions on making those big-uns, bigger? |

Hi enrgie,
On the Big Uns. I am adding small pieces of sprue about 2-3mm thick between the feet of my minis and the base. The aim being to make them look as if they are standing on, not in the basing flock. Its probably a bit late now but you could use this to make your Big Uns look taller than your other orcs. Just make sure the flock comes up level with the under side of their feet. Otherwise 40k orK nobz bodies and heads or BlOrc bits are good ideas Cheers |

Dreadhowl, thanks for the tip! I have however decided to stick using greenstuff cloaks.
![]() All ready for the undercoat which I will apply once the base and backs are dried. |
