Hello fellow greenskins (and all the lurkers)
, here's my own blog at last... Because of technical ignorance and lack of time this wont be updated as much as I like but hey, I'll give it a try.I will start with the pictures of Lidl Rikk. You might have seen him wandering around at the painting competition. Lidl Rikk is wandering with Ghenkadh's sneaky gitz from da yellow moon tribe. He joins in eagerly for some stuntie- and Bretbashing and ejoys to peel them out of their tin cans... As you might see, he has his snacks and a little drink for when he gets a little battle-weary of all that bashing. After his lunch he will continue his search for more fun and as always hopes for some loot... ![]() ![]() Hope you all will enjoy it! Hey! Nice giant! I painted one recently, and I think you did a better job. Hmmm....makes me want to go back and touch mine up!
I didn't have all the cool things to put on the belt, but I think I might want to start to find stuff to attach, like the slayer. Good job! |

Hello all,
Lidl Rikk saw some action friday. On a looting campaign Ghenkadhs sneaky gitz encountered a Bretonnian army they utterly defeated. Rikk went to get some bowmen, but first action was a 1 - just a loud scream. Next bound a 6, hurray! but unfortunately followed by a 1... Still enough to let the bowmen flee the battlefield. Looking for some more fun Lidl Rikk noticed all the Brets were dead or fleeing... Next week I will be able to make some pictures of some night goblins, because a night goblin blog without pictures of them??? To be continued... |

Well, not the new photo's I was willing to post, but here is an update with Hezl, Ghenkadh's 'trusted' shaman...
![]() Hezl is always in for an unfair fight and likes to hide from where the heat is on... When knowing what he can expect from his enemy and when he is able to prepare himself good, Hezl joins the sneaky gitz. He doesnt like surprises but is in for them himself. Maybe that's why the staff of sneaky stealin' is his most favourite item... ![]() ![]() As can be seen with Lidl Rikk and Hezl my usage of colours is different to many around here. I don't use GW paints from the start, although now I have and use some already. The foundation paints do work well indeed. In my army the basing is done with earth brown of Miniature paints, like with my 15mm historical (and fantasy - Orcs!). Here a resin base is used, but most of the times I use the stuff to fill holes in walls and wood to make a basing, washing it with little watered down earth brown - the sides of the base just plain earth brown - and the wash is with Vallejo smoke and a brush of a lighter colour. Here I am experimenting still a little. Now I use a light GW colour. After painting I use some brown woodlike stuff from Jordan, little grit-stones and blended turf from Woodland scenic. Furthermore I give the models a wash (?) with watered down Vallejo smoke. It gives the figures a smudgy look, but sometimes too smudgy. Then I need to touch it up again, but the overall look suits the army in my opinion. Later, Kees This post has been edited by Kees (aka Ghenkadh) on May 17 2009, 01:13 PM |

Back again,
this time with Ghenkadh himself and his sneaky gitz from da yellow moon tribe. ![]() Ghenkadh was not worlds strongest, toughest or meanest leader, but the good thing about him was that he knew all this. Knowing yourself (and your sneaky gitz - weak but numerous) and knowing your enemy was important fighting the enemy. Besides, knowing his weaknesses himself he thought the enemy might know some of these too, so he liked to surprise his enemies with always another battle plan. This was sometimes given the circumstances, because his troops were brittle and he needed to 'refresh' them a lot... ![]() ![]() Ghenkadh ![]() Ghenkadh's command group. Stunties for breakfast, stunties for tea, and for the musician stuntie-bones to be... ![]() unit 'filler' with the limited edition fanatics ![]() You might notice the movement tray. I am not satisfied about this, and I am thinking of making them look like this (a WIP of night gobins with bow...): ![]() What do you think? Till next time (a midweek away mith my parents-in-law, so no update till next weekend...) and hope you have fun watching. Comments are always welcome! The textured and coloured edge to the movement tray looks much better.
Great looking models and have to agree that the unit filler is a nice addition. Dave |

I can't say if that's why, but there is something about your colors, or choice or something, but I really like the way your minis look. I'm wondering if maybe you should stick with those other paints.... Great looking unit. Ghenkadh -my favorite of the group.Keep it up. |

Hello again,
Here are some spiderriders to follow. ![]() ![]() Because night goblins are brittle (and to some extent expendable) Ghenkadh needs all the help he can get. These forest goblin spiderriders are a welcome addition to his expanding horde... These spiderriders wil be followed by others and with different poses. Due to my army composition it has no high prority but someday... Cheers, Kees This post has been edited by Kees (aka Ghenkadh) on May 23 2009, 08:32 AM |

Hello there,
Here are some pictures of some of my fanatics and of my first troll. ![]() ![]() Those nameless fanatics, of so much use to Ghenkadh. Sometimes destroying whole units of knights, but at other times they got stuck in their own rush and entangled themselves in their ball- and-chains... ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is Ghenkadh's stuntie-basha. When he gets and hears the right instructions of Ghenkadh he can be of very good use, though sometimes he just wanders around the battlefield with no idea of what is going on... Well, later I hope to get some pictures of my chukka's and some more night goblins. Cheers for now! Kees This post has been edited by Kees (aka Ghenkadh) on May 23 2009, 10:11 AM |

Hello all,
Though it's not part of Ghenkadh's horde, I wanted to post this picture here as well (I just posted it in the Undead gitz part of this great website). There is a possibility to use it, when my opponent agrees to let me use the Cursed Company - Dogs of War, if I am correct? Guess it would be fun to play - fear causing, some nice special features and the cost wouldn't be such a problem in bigger games, because the night goblins are so cheap... ![]() There is one Orc model in the Cursed Company, with a goblin musician. I used four Orcs in the picture. I sligtly changed the arm with the choppa. Hope you like the models, some are of a different company, but I really liked those: the one holding his head above his, ehhh... body and the one helping his mate rise from the grave (though you can't see this model - double based - that good - because it's behind the elven standard bearer... On the standard you can see the old night goblin shield moon used to link this unit anyway to Ghenkadh's horde... I try to give all my units a slightly yellow 'mark' and to many, if it is possible, a yellow moon. This you might have noticed with my giant - tattoo on his arm, and I hope to give someday the spiderriders some mark too (apart from the yellow in the shields). Till the next update, Cheers, Kees This post has been edited by Kees (aka Ghenkadh) on May 23 2009, 09:12 PM |

Hi again,
A weekend full with uploades. As promised earlier: the chukkaz... The pictures are not that good, but well... You can see the night goblins around. These I use as orc bullies. They are based on 25mm. Why they can be bullies? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The chukkaz were operated by hired troops. Goblins were the better ones to 'man' them, better than those tiny night goblins. Being mercenaries, still it was needed to have a little control over them. For this purpose the night goblins volunteered happily, because they themselves weren't busy handling the ropes but instead they were able to drink some pints... With the spirit inside, they were very good at bullying those goblins around. The bases of the bullies will get a barrel in the future... Till next time, Kees |

Another upload with already painted stuff.
And tnx, squig hugger. Maybe you want to hug these below??? especially the one with the 'snack'... ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are some night goblins too... ![]() ![]() Rhonadh, the trusted and tough battle standard bearer of Ghenkadh's sneaky gitz with Rowdy Grott's big red raggedy banner... ![]() Two night goblins. The one to the right is a Gamezone miniature. Another one with a big drum and also showing his behind is with the stikkaz. That's it for now! Cheers, Kees |
