Oops! Keep meaning to update when i finish army stuff, and then forgetting. So to bring the blog up to date:

The front rank of the goblins has been added as they grow a bit more.

And for the Ogres, a few Gnoblars are on the table at the moment (since January actually sleep.gif ) and are almost done:

And, a close up of one of the terrible lads:

Not to interested in close up quality, so there are a few small mistakes, but i do like the group effect. They'll have snow bases when finished, but i want the snow shapes to match up across the bases, so i have to figure out how many i own to go in a unit, and then how they rank up first tongue.gif

Anyway, C&C welcome.

Yep, i had them cleaned and assembled in January, but i kept messing them up, so had to strip them, repait bits etc. Next on the paint table are some Tyranid spore mines, and a goblin boss i am converting. I'll have pics in the next few days.

Well, i have a couple of projects in mind at the moment, but there is a conversion contest coming up at my local GW for christmas, and i have had a conversion in mind for a while now, and thought this was a good time to do it. The sculpting and conversion is finished, now i just have to paint him. However, here are a few shots of the non-undercoated model so you can see what has been done. The whole plan is to get my old metal wolf rider model, and put him on a big wolf. A bigger wolf. Alright, i used a metal Chaos Warhound...

And a few shots of the dragonhide saddle:

Fluffwise, he's probably going to have the brimstone bauble, represented in this case by a piece of dragonhide that he's stolen from somewhere and using as a saddle because it's still warm, and therefore keeps his backside warm in battle laugh.gif. Althought the hides still a bit volatile, so who knows what happens if he goes into his death throes sitting on it. smile.gif

Still plodding along with this wolf. I took some advice and filled the holes around the feet so i can't paint the wolf and base separately like i would have hoped for, but it has a far better effect now the wolf isn't floating about the rock:

And some shots of the wolf being painted so far:

I tried a few cuts on him, and also a glowing eye effect, although i think that worked better on the right side than the left side.

I'm also testing out some poses for a Lictor that will be painted next:

I'm wub.gif ing the wolf. What colors did you use for the skin, and how did you do the eyes? I'll be painting some ungors soon and your wolf skin/fur color scheme is what I had in mind for them.

I'm wub.gif ing the wolf. What colors did you use for the skin, and how did you do the eyes? I'll be painting some ungors soon and your wolf skin/fur color scheme is what I had in mind for them.

Fur:
Scorched Brown -> Bestial Brown -> Bestial Brown + Dwarf Flesh (1:1) -> Dwarf Flesh -> Dwarf Flesh + Bleached Bone (1:1)
The last two stages are very light and are usually picking out individual hairs

Flesh:
Tallarn Flesh + Calthan Brown (1:1) -> Wash with Scorched Brown + Chaos Black (1:1) -> Tallarn Flesh + Calthan Brown (1:1) -> Tallarn Flesh -> Tallarn Flesh + Bleached Bone (1:1) -> Bleached Bone -> Bleached Bone + Skull White (1:1)
Last stage is only on the underlines for scratches.
Recesses are then glazes with Scab Red and Liche Purple.

Eyes (Not too sure on these, but i'll try):
Mechrite Red -> Blood Red -> Blood Red + Light Flesh (Vallejo Model Colour 1:1) -> Light Flesh dot
Glazed around the eyes with Scab Red then a mix of Scab Red and Blood Red (1:1)

Wow, I really like how the wolf is coming. Also... that Lictor pose is pretty cool. Lictors are notoriously hard to work with being such a static model and all, but you really have a nice sense of action and a neat flow to the model.
