How to deal with flying units?
I don't have spearchukka's and I don't really fancy them.... So, what's left? Or should I quit using Fanatics? |

Well, they are too cheap, usually, and they disrupt my fanatics. (I only roll 6, as a rule, when they hit my own units.
Magic is too short to stop the blasted birdies, and archers... Yes, Well, last game I actually hit once! Killed an elf, I did. Ofcourse the elf was on top of a hill and it took me two turns with twenty archers, but he was dead. So, no magic, no archers. I've tried it, and it doesn't work. If it does, it's usually too late. |

I have recently had the same problem. There is a post here about it, not too far down. the gist of advice was to
a: Don't take fanatics. Let them sacrifice their flyers, it'll give you a free charge move or two. b: Spread out your fanatic bearing NG units, so they aren't released all at once. c: Deploy a bit further back, so the flitty things can't reach them first turn. Of course each of these has disadvantages, but hey, it will add some variety. I only took two in my 1000 point army last game, and my opponent lost a jungle swarm unit looking for them. RoV |
