Trying to make a tough night goblin list without resorting to non night goblin unit/character types.

This list has 2 large units of night goblins supported by the squig herd in horde formation and the 2 smaller units of archers.

The manglers/hoppers are a bit of a wild card, but they fit the theme and my opponents generally focus fire on them, leaving the rest of my army to cross the board.

I've debated putting the 2 units of 50 goblins into one large unit of 100 with spears/nets. I'd deploy them in a horde with my general/bsb in the unit. Anyone think this might be a better option for me?

It could use a couple of throwaway Big Bosses. Give them a Great Weapon and just have them swing away at things until they die - their effective T5 (thanks to the Nets) will keep them alive. I'd take that instead of Squig Hoppers - I'm of the opinion that's a terrible unit.

While we're on the subject, another thing that seems to be missing here is the lone Big Boss on a Great Cave Squig to hunt war machines and mages. He's a much better points investment than Squig Hoppers as well, and he can fill a similar role.

and moooore squigherds! only one unit? these guys are night golins elite, so why not bring 3 units biggrin.gif

i would say get some points off of the warlord and spend it on those things. or perhaps replace him with 3 great weapon wielding warlords, to join each unit.
all non-core units are ItP anyway and when there is a lord in every unit they dont need the general nearby all that much.

If you are using this kind of army, you really need a Ld boost. Give to your BSB the standard of discipline. Ld8 with reroll is much better and safer.

I think you need more hard hitting there. 4 big units of NGs won't deal a lot of pain. Try to reduce those units and include trolls and more squig herders. For the remaining NG units, include NG warbosses with GW, they will help a lot wink.gif. Also, think about including a giant. He won't depend on your general's Ld and he can go completely on his own.

With these changes, you can still have a fluff list and even funnier wink.gif.
