I just bought the new savage orc warboss model. I now want to use it
![]() As a BSB, I'll give him the Armor of Silvered Steel (In a Lucky Head Shaman unit) but I don't know how to equip him as a Warboss. My normal Orc Warboss is usually geared like this: Shield, Armor of Destiny, Crown of Command, Sword of Striking I don't want to give him a shield to make him more wysiwyg and I don't see the point of giving him the crown of command since that will be only useful if I loose combat which I don't want with my savage boys. Some of you already played it as a warboss? |

Well a savage unit is easily killy enough without a lord, so to give a warboss a purpose besides granting LD, I would probably go for something which makes him fast and killy, so you can avoid stuff that would normally screw you over. A asf sword and a potion of speed might work. Say that you charge a bloodletter unit, you'll want to take out the herald before the bloodletters strike. 5 s6 attacks rerolling to hit, might just remove their hatred before they strike. This is also nice whenever you get flanked by a unit that could potentially remove your frenzy. Having you warboss make way and slay some attackers before they strike, might just save you!
As for the bsb. Since you actually have a 5+ ward, you could consider giving him a banner. That's the only opportunity the savages have. But I can't help but think that this is a seriously expensive unit? In a horde with a shaman and one or two savage boss characters, and I guess you need a black orc boss as well to quell animosity? That's a lot of points! |

Or maybe not in a big savage orc unit... if I take a unit of 17 SO, no shaman, with the savage orc bigboss with asf weapon and glittering scales...
It would take 278 pts... not bad I think. |

My Savage Warboss takes -
Fencers Blades Glittering Scales Crown of Command Dragonbane Gem It works pretty well for me. Some would argue the savage bigun unit doesn't need to be stubborn but I'm wary of solid players exploiting their frenzy. |
