Heya folks!

I'v decided to start my own army blog and I have chosen to walk the green path to victory! I'm a newcomer to the whole warhammer world and as far as my artistic skills go, I can barely draw a proper stickman. I'm very much into the hobby and I hope I will eventually get to crush sum humies with my OnG horde! smile.gif

At the moment I have:

10 Black Orcs
20 Night Gobbos
6 Fanatics

To get things rolling, here are my Black Orc Krimson Killerz! I will add some small details to them after I get the proper paints.

I might have gone overboard with the worn armor look or what do you guys think? Also, what should I do with the drum? How to make the surface look used and well, more orcish?

I'm still working on my fanatics and Night Gobbos. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to go about painting their robes.

Please feel free to comment and give me tips!

Waaaagh! out! ohmy.gif

That's a pretty damn good start of a blog! biggrin.gif Lovely looking blackorcs, the skin is spot on. How did you paint it? And the red metal really looks like metal. Well done. That can be tricky to pull off but you've done it nicely.

A great start so far, I really like the chipped armour effect.

What do you have planned next?

Based with Waaagh! Flesh
Highlighted with Warboss Green
Washed with Biel-Tan Green
And another wash with Athonian Camoshade

I'm working on my fanatics at the moment. I'm gonna do some conversion work and make some of them wield huge skulls instead of puny metal balls!

I'm still trying to decide how to go about working their robes. I'll just go ahead and post a pic about where I'm at smile.gif

Righty then. I need input from you guys! I'v been toying with this idea to replace some of the original fanatic balls with some skulls. Now I'm wondering whether or not the skulls I'm planning on using are too big or too small or just the right size. Let me know what you think.

Should I go with da BIG skull or the small one. Should I perhaps use them both? Or should I just toss the idea and go with the original ones?

Both sized skulls look good to me.

Where are the skulls from?

The skulls are from a roughly 12 year old necklace I'v got. It had one big skull made out of some sort of plastic or bone and 4 smaller metal ones. The problem I'm facing now is how I can keep the fanatics from tipping over from the weight, especially from the metal ones. blink.gif

On the left in the first picture you can see a half painted skull that's originally yellowish. That one is a keychain that comes with every bottle of Blair's hot sauces which I have quite a lot. They are pretty light and would be ideal in that sense but they are made out of some sort of funky substance which makes them a bit soft. The paint seems to cover them well but when you touch it with your fingers it feels sticky. However, the paint does seem to stick well on them so I'm not sure yet if I'll be using them in the future.

The skulls look really sick, I like them a lot. Usually I use coins as counterweights, expecially with the fanatic bases.

Thitanium Prince is right, coins work I've tried them in the past.

Another option is using a 40mm base, it could give more stability and you can even create a small diorama with it.

A WIP update.
10 more Blorcks
20 Night Gobbos
6 Fanatics

I have yet to decide the colour scheme for the robes. The blorcks will be painted like the ones I did before.

Here is a WIP picture featuring the Paint Station Deluxe in its full glory!

I also have this bad boy lying around

I just don't have the courage to paint them (Grumlok and Gazbag) yet. I fear I might end up ruining them completely. Maybe I'll give it a shot after/if my skills improve. The black orcs I posted here were the very first minis I ever painted after all blink.gif
