I've been meaning to try and post a plog for a while. I have a bunch of stuff, that will hopefully be making an appearance here. I'll try to keep on top of this until I fun out of stuff to show.
Ok! First off, Mangler Squigs. I took inspiration from the little WAAAAGH! and ran with it. Old cold one's butts are hard to find, but they have the perfect butts for this... ![]() Here are some WIP pics. I hope to upload the fully built and greenstuffed pics soon. I've recently begun painting them, so hopefully they'll be done soonish (pre-Christmas, hopefully). I got 8 of these Guys. They have no idea what they're in for... ![]() Oh the humanity! ![]() The beginnings of some faces? To me that one looks like the "yep yep yep" aliens from Sesame Street. ![]() Here's a shot of the whole gang. After this I greenstuffed the bellies,, faces, and tails where I shortened them. ![]() Hope you enjoy. More in a bit. This post has been edited by The Nurge on Dec 17 2011, 09:59 PM |

This is where they start to come together a bit more. Faces, teeth and an extremely healthy smattering of bits. I'll post the fully assembled pics after these.
![]() I got it into my head to make this fella look like violator from spawn... ![]() A couple others. ![]() ![]() |

Hey everybody, sorry, this post is about to get more pic heavy. These are my 4 constructed mangler squigs. Let me know what you think. I finished building them the week the official one came out. I was glad the new mini wasn't my cup of tea, and was so expensive. I wouldn't want to have to buy 4 of those. It made me happy that I took a ridiculous amount of time to make these.
![]() Hope you like em. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Very nice looking conversions! I am tempted to ty and convert my own, have plenty of the old cold one models for the Dark Elves. Might just try it when I get home!

These are a way off from being painted still. I have a lot of stuff finished that isn't posted yet. What would everyone like to see first, in the meantime?
Giants? Arachnaroks? Pump Wagons? Artillery? Shamans? Bosses? Fanatics? Vampire Stuff? Blech! Dwarf Stuff? Harumph!! Let me know and I'll see what I can do. |

Very nice squigs! I particularly like the one with the eye covers! As for what you should post next: bosses and shamen!

O.K.
I opened the topic expecting that we'll have just another bloke that takes a few shortcuts to create cheap mangler squigs, but there are really, really good. I like them better than the official models. Oh and to be warned I will be stealing the idea. But probably I wont get to it until fall 2019 or something |

Great, great manglers
This is a really typical conversion, but your sculpted heads are among the best I've seen |

Your manglers are a good argument made for converting rather than buying the new mangler models. Good job.

Wow...Wow....Wow!!! Those are fantastic! I love 101 things about them!
First off, where did you get all the various horns that you used for horns and teeth? I don't have a bitz box that goes beyond much Greenskins, so I am always surprised by the cool stuff other races have. There are some very cool stuff out there. Also, where did you get the chains? Flagellants? What are those bug eyed things on that one squig? What did you use for the eyes? Some sort of marble? Might I get some at a craft store? I see you used a bunch of cool things from craft stores or jewelry makers. I like how you cut the Cold Ones down the middle and made them wider. I have some Lizardmen ones and used them, but didn't cut them down the middle. I also didn't spend as much time as I could've on building up the layers. I'm not so good at sculpting. I know the principle, but I'm impatient. I even like the one fanatic with the rope part that you turned into a club. That's really cool. If you want input as to what to do next, I'd love to see how you do an Arachnarok. I've got a 2nd one that I want to do something funky with and I'm sure that I will see something interesting here. Here's my badly done Mangler that pales in comparison to yours. I think mine looks like a retarded tadpole. Maybe if I build up a few layers, though, it will be better. I think I should start again with some of the cold ones I have and split them to be wider. Shortening the tail, too? I'll have to try that. ![]() Oh, make sure you post it in the Mangler Gallery!!!! Those are some of the best I've ever seen. This post has been edited by Groznit Goregut on Dec 9 2011, 12:44 PM |

I don't know, Groznit, I like yours quite a bit. He's super-mean looking
It was definitely one of the ones I looked at for inspiration. As far as your questions go;The horns and teeth are: goblin bows - sharpened down, toothpicks, pink horror tentacles, spider legs, Zombie dragon claws, black orc horns, anything pointy... The chains are from a friend. I believe that they were from the chaos marauder box. I clipped them off a bunch of different flails and glued them together. The eyes are just little push pins with tiny round ends. I pushed them into the greenstuff while it was still soft. Small beads might work better. I found these to be a bit too large. I got the idea to saw them down the middle from fellow poster "the little WAAAAGH!" So credit where credit is due. I stole his idea. Blatantly. I do have a couple finished Arachs, and 1 WIP. I'll post them eventually at least. So far none of the options of what to post next stand out, as far as requests. I'll give it another day or 2 to see what everybody wants to see next. Whatcha think guys?Giants? Arachnaroks? Pump Wagons? Artillery? Shamans? Bosses? Fanatics? Vampire Stuff? Dwarf Stuff? This post has been edited by The Nurge on Dec 9 2011, 01:47 PM |
