Hey all, I have a 3 game tournament coming up, 2500 points. Here is a list I am thinking of playing. Yes, Snagla may not be the best use of points, but special characters are allowed, and this will be the first time in 5 years of Fantasy playing I have used one, so I will!
I have about 60 points left, and I am thinking of putting a wolf chariot in there, or squeezing some points for a unit of wolf riders. Maybe a boss for Snagla's unit so he doesn't get killed off in a challenge? What do you lot of 'orrible greenskins think? RoV Characters Morgitz of Oz Orc War Boss Choppa, Light armour, shield Sword of Striking Armour of Destiny 183 Mad Barstud Orc Great Shaman hides in bunker Choppa, Level 4 Ironcurse Icon Dispel Scroll 230 Ned da Kelly Orc Big Boss hides in bunker if there are snipers (bloody Ogres...) Looks fairly solid. I like more artillery, but that is what suits my play style. You have a lot of targets for any shooty list, so something will come through.
As you say, it should be fun. |

Thanks, Da Git. Any thoughts on what I should do with the last 59 points or so? I could go a wolf chariot, or drop a few gobbos to squeeze in another pump wagon?

Come on fellas, looking for various feedback and thoughts here! Loads of views and 1 comment, I am genuinely looking for opinions!
What to do with the spare points? 1. Wolf chariot? 2. Pump Wagon with a few less gobbos? 3. More spiders for Snagla? 4. Cheap-as lvl 1 night gobbo shaman? RoV |

I've found that I really appreciate having a night goblin shaman. Even a low level one can cause trouble, since almost all the spells are ok, and if you're not satisfied the signature spell is good for flanking spider riders and armour piercing orcs. And the extra mushroom-dice means you don't really have to waste many dice to cast the spells.
Otherwise you can drop 1 gobbo and have a Spiky Roller Pump Wagon. I don't have any experience with Wolf Chariots, but they're even faster than the Boar Chariots... I think it all depends on your play style. I do think that you have enough chaff, so the shaman might be the best option to make your army even more solid. |

Thanks mate. I am leaning toards the shammy, since I like to have a Plan B if the bunker with my Lvl 4 fails animosity. I would put him with the large block of Night Gobbos, and not be too worried about ensuring his survival; most of the gobbo spells are reasonably short ranged so he needs to be up front anyway.
Still looking wistfully at that wolf chariot though; I want to have a flank that scares the daylights out of the opponent; Pumpwagon, Mangler, Boarboys, ambushing spiders etc RoV |

Very nice list, not actually seen Boar Boyz take to the field in a while now so always nice to see them included.
As far as the spare points go I am torn between Wolf Riders (with Spears and Shields) Wolf Chariot NG Shammie I don't really see the point of the 22 Night Goblin bunker so I would personally drop that to fit in NG Shaman with Ruby Ring/Dispel Scroll Wolf Chariot/Riders which leaves either 10/20 points to piss about with |

Since you're just going with the vanilla choppa for the BSB, what about giving him the Enchanted Shield to get him to a 4+/4++?
Another option would be to give your BSB the Armor of Destiny and your warboss the Talisman + Dragonhelm + regular shield. |

Id drop the 2 extra Ngobbos from the Bunker so it can be put into a watchtower if needed, with the extra points 2 more fanatics for the bunker wouldn't hurt and might make for a nasty suprise if you oponent tries to charge it.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback.
I like to run a bunker to keep my Lvl 4 and BSB safe; they tend to die horribly if left to themselves, or in the front rank of a combat unit. Watchtower isn't one of the 3 scenarios, but otherwise good point ![]() I like the idea of giving the BSB the enchanted shield, just in case... We will see what fits ![]() RoV |

Well, I had my 1 day tournament today, and had a great time. Here are some highlights from my 3 games
![]() First up was battle of the Daves, which I duly lost. Bloody Vampire Counts... it was a great game, despite my Lvl 4 Orc Shaman going down to a feedback scroll in the first magic phase was not a brilliant start I thought I was in with a good chance but simply got outplayed 7-13 loss I think, but great game! A couple of 'anything could happen' turning points. Got the VC general down to one wound, and killed off the black coach, but too little too late ![]() Second game I played a fella I played at my last tournament. He had his High Elves and his cursed dice. Similar game to when I played him before; he can miscast on 3 dice no worries. My trolls making 10 of 11 regen saves one round didn't help . He ended up taking down some good stuff at the end; Dwellered (or Pit, I get them confused) 30 of my 35 orc block in one go! He had a lone BSB taking on the remains of my savage orcs, and a lone swordsman holding off 30+ night gobbos. Lotta points there. He came back well to make it a close game, 11-9 win. Third game I played nearly all-mounted Dark Elves. General on dragon, BSB on manticore, hydra, cold one knights and chariot, 2 repeater bolt throwers, lotsa dark riders. I reckon it is a tricky list to play, and he did it very well. I simply couldn't get to grips with the tricksy buggers, and my 3 chariots fluffed just about everything. Trolls failed 4 stupidity tests; 2 at Ld9! I think they survived because they shuffled off into a corner I though he had it all in the bag, then a unit of dark riders fled with their standard and his BSB died to a rock lobber, which gave me 500 points for breaking his army. I was exceptionally lucky there, he really deserved the win, but handled it with very good grace. 11-9 win. Good times 3 games, I won more than I lost, and walked away with the best sports prize (was a 5 way tie, but I was lucky to have the highest battlepoints of the 5.)RoV |
