So I've been using the Hand of Gork on Fanatics now and then ( keep them away from me and closer in front of the enemy movement area).
I was wondering....do you think Fanatics could be hand of Gorked into the enemy unit? You can't Hand of Gork a unit into combat with an enemy unit, they have to be 1" away. Would we consider that same idea with Fanatics? I suppose technically they would be in combat. The thought that came to mind is Hand of Gork Fanatic into the unit, but the Fanatic still bounces back out one inch away from the unit in the direction of your choosing or other? I've also been doing this lately with Fleeing units. Keeping them away from the Tables edge. Seems to work out ok if I can get it off and afford to use that spell for that job. |

Is there scope for hand of gorking a unit with fanatics in it, next to an enemy unit to guarantee the fanatics will hit them?
Would you still stop 8 inches away before finishing positioning your unit, or would you get to place the unit and then release the fanatics? A tricky one... |

Yes, you can Hand of Gork a Unit of Night Goblins with Fanatics 1 inch away from an enemy unit. You do not have to stop 8" away because it's technically a teleport spell and part of the magic phase, not movement. No "movement" taking place for anything to "move" within 8" of the unit.
Gork just picks you up, plops you down near the enemy unit and says F.U. to the enemy unit. |

So potentially, if you get a decent roll and the right position, you could place your fanatic unit on the enemies flank and roll the fanatics up their entire battle line. Party! |

if he is stupid enough to place his units less than 2 inch apart it is party time indeed.

I heard cries of "broken" the first time that somebody came up with the tactic of Hand of Gorke NGs to the side of the enemy battleline, and then see 3 Fanatics do oodles of damage all across 8-10 regiments.
However, this is rarely possible to accomplish. As already mentioned, your opponent can just space his units a bit wider, and he can dispel the Hand. Still, this use of the spell can win you the game. It wont be pretty, but it will be effective. And Hand of Gork is a brilliant way of putting a Fanatic, or even better - a Mangler Squig -, right in front of something, and watch your opponent squirm. At this point I like to point out that pain is a subjective thing. |
